Hi I am after an E39 530i Touring.
Automatic and preferable a M Sport although i won't discount a tidy SE.
Colour wise I'm not too fussed but I would like a darker interior if possible.
I have a budget of around 4k and I'm in Newport Pagnell but prepared to travel.
If you have anything of interest please let me know.
Thanks Tom

FB E39 group can yield some decent cars to be fair.
I know of a 525i for sale, but not a 530i.

keep looking. awesome cars apart from the rust, and the FB groups seem to be full of people who think they are worth 10k. 4k should get a good one if you can find it

I think the costs vary as it's becoming clear that cheap 'mint' ones are never mint. They can take £'000s to get right as well if you want them to be decent. If you are paying a garage, that rate will go up. I suspect this is where the 'dreamers' come from. I'm currently witnessing this on a certain car at the moment a friend owns, and maybe even one car of my own! It's worth seeing how much M539 Restorations on YouTube spent on his 750iL. It's quite surprising. Not everyone wants to roll around in a tired old girl on ditchfinders and a worn interior and then claim it's mint .

I'm hoping to spend around 3 on a car with decent bodywork and then I've got a grand to spend on suspension refresh, coolant hoses and stat and full fluids and service. I've got a ramp at work I can use after hours so that's labour costs out of the equation. I'm not expecting mint, just not a tired old dog. I've wanted an E38 for years but I need a touring for the dogs

parts seem remarkably cheap, and most stuff is still on the simple end of the spectrum. Rust is the problem, jacking points will all be rotten
