That's my brother's car He just reduced it recently as he really wants it out of the way now. Not really the cars fault, I think hes just realised that hes not quite up for the occasional tinkering/repairs that are needed with retro car ownership Think it'll be up for another week then its off to a Saab specialist of some description for them to sell on or break for parts..

The C70 T5 is a good looking car. I quite liked them back in the day. My memory of one was at the 'ring in 2010. We all went down in the following cars: Me : '89 205 GTi Tej : '00 Honda S2000 (This is the one which got away TWICE from me!) Nathan : '98(ish) Volvo C70 T5 GT Pack Jim (Nathan's Dad) : '91 XJS V12 HE. Being old(ish) cars, and with cars back then not quite having the attention they did then as they did now, the trip did hit a couple of hiccups. Remember, I got the 205 for £600 the year before, with it owing us £1.2k in total at that point, the S2k was £5k, and the Volvo was round £2.5k), the trip. A good XJS was around £2-3k then. What problems did we hit? -The headunit was quiet in the 205 -300 miles in, as the sun went up on a hot August day, The Jag needed to pull over quite a bit. It's gauge was creeping slightly off the middle during cruising at times. -When following an AC'd coach through the mountains, the Pug's gauge was near welded to the 3/4 mark. Fan was on, and it was staying at 3/4s, just not coming down. Oh and I was boiling inside the car. Oh, it had fresh coolant and a new radiator. I was worried it would go into the red, but it stayed out. We then hit clear road, and the Pug began to cool down. Then we hit a problem with the Volvo. While my car had run hot, his car had run hot enough behind the coach for the wiring harness sheathing to melt and short itself out! Nathan would rebuild the loom over 3 days in the car park of the hotel, as no garage would touch it at the 'ring. Those were good times .

Fortunately Sally asked me when the C10,was getting done. So I crawled back into my box. forum.retro-rides.org/thread/217718/rover-kent-spares-resto-depositLooking at all the pics in this thread it was easy to see a serious bargain once the motor is up and running. Really tidy car.

Glad that went to a good home Dan it really needed saving. This one is mine, really needs a respray but has leather trim and a power top, owes me less than a hundred quid at the moment

Hee hee those power tops were great for showing off, pull the handbrake on one click and you could put it up or down on the move (as long as you weren't moving too fast)

I bought this at the end of last summer for comfortably within this budget. We're looking forward to getting it back on the road a few weeks from now.

www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Citroen-Xantia-2-0SX-Automatic-Phase-1-MoT-to-30-12-21/174682390527 Less than a grand with an MoT until the end of this year. Xantias manage to have retro appeal without compromising too much on everyday driving. They don't seem to suffer from rust that badly, and of course they have the magic Citroen uppy-downy lever for instant lows (when parked and driving very, very slowly). Had the seating position suited me better, I'd probably still have mine. Even really nice ones aren't commanding that much, they seem to be very overlooked. Just different wheel trims and removing what few badges they have really makes them stand out. Here's one I prepared earlier.
