Next the truck spent some more time at Over Land Cruisers for some more work while I was away. It had the injectors serviced, one needed a new tip, the rest just a good clean out. Valve clearances were all checked and reset, so much quieter now. Alisport intercooler kit, modified fuel control pin fitted and the pump set up properly to make the most of the parts fitted. The difference is night and day to how it drives. Previously I was having to change gear so much, the power would die off so fast on the hills. Now once its in 5th I keep wanting to grab 6th gear! cant say how happy I am with it now. Plus there is a bit turbo spool noise when your pressing on which I like too! Sadly I havent taken any pictures of the intercooler just of the charge pipe to the intercooler. Very nicely made bit of kit. Fits nicely in front of the aircon rad and behind the bumper, no holes had to be cut to get the pipes to and from it either which I like.

Once I got back, first job was to help my brother trailer a lathe from Oxford down to Plymouth. The new engine set up worked flawless. Might have been a bit heavy on the juice, but is to be expected dragging about 2.5 tons.....I think from memory it was about 16 MPG, haha! I also had a list of little jobs that I wanted to sort. First was fit new new window slider rubbers. The old ones were like hard plastic and made the windows super slow to move up and down. Was all good apart from the passenger side window decided to stop working. Stripped it all down to find the drive output from the gearbox was seized in the housing. Was easy enough to take apart, clean, regrease and reassemble. Worked a treat after that, especially with the new rubbers! A few days later it rewarded me with the drivers side not working, so I guess I'll be taking that one apart too then....must have got jealous of the attention the other side got!

Next up was wheels and brakes. Took the wheels to a local place to be blasted and powder coated. They were a bit rusty and not that pretty. The tires were from 2005 and had some damage to the side walls, generally had seen better days. They were replaced with some lovely BF Goodrich KM3 While it was off the ground on axle stands I sprayed about 5l of Lanoguard onto and into the chassis, floors, inside the doors and anywhere else I could get to. Hopefully it will help to keep it in the rust free state for a while longer. Also while the wheels were off I sent the callipers off to Big Redd. New pistons, seals and shiny silver paint. Plus stainless bleed nipples so hopefully they never get stuck. Sadly I didnt take a photo of them, I will do next time the wheels are off. I also fitted my set of gull wing hatches I bought to replace the rear windows. I think they look brilliant and add great practicality for the future. So happy with them!

I am waiting for a set of Icon shocks and Slinky springs to eventually arrive from Australia, plus fit some new pads and discs to the front. By which point the majority of the base lining will be complete.
I am trying to decide on some sort of simple drawer layout in the back for storage and cooking type affair. Not decided yet exactly what sort of thing I want/need. I think the best is to take it some trips and see what works and what I am missing before launching into any sort of build. Looking forward to being able to use and enjoy it!
I also have a set of used OEM arch flairs. I much prefer the look of them to the slightly 'neck set up that I currently have. I am loathe to drill drill any holes and fit them like the factory does. Will see if I can bond them on with tiger seal or similar. Another job to get on with when I am back home.
