I bet that would go really well with a 500cc bike engine under it. Just saying... I would like to retain the ability to use it as a tipper so I think the Reliant engine is going to stay - I wonder if anyone has ever fitted a turbo to a 850cc engine?? It has got a 'Yellow top' Reliant engine in it taken from a Rialto. I am led to believe this engine has a higher compression ratio, different cam and should produce both more low end torque and higher hp?

What a brilliantly weird little thing. And also, talk about a shot to the memory banks. I grew up in Oldham - not seen that council logo for a long, long time.
Looking forward to seeing how this develops.

I did have a go in an Ant, the original engine seemed more than enough power for the handling.

Brilliant.....you've gotta like a pick up......but you've gotta love a quirky one....and this ticks all the boxes. It's funny how every odd red door is now known as an 'Inbetweeners' door. I'll be keeping an eye on this one....great find 👍

Got her home today, just had to pump a tyre up and she winched easily up the trailer
Turns over well but no spark despite changing points and condenser, looks like dodgy coil as there is power to it. I may just convert the dizzy to electric ignition whilst I am at it.
Not sure how to add pictures on mobile...

I didn’t know these existed last week and now someone on Instagram has just messaged me and he had a whole field full of them! Reduced to a handful now.

Your bodywork looks in a lot better condition than mine! Love those wheels, what are they from? I think a hunt for a pair of classic alloys is now on the agenda I can’t take credit for the bodywork. This was a drunken EBay purchase about 12 years ago! Stuck to my word and bought it but then not done much. Was already about 75% restored. The wheel PCD is 4x114.3 which is the same as a Scimitar. Most Scimitar alloys are 14’’ but managed to pick these 15’’ up pretty cheap. Rolling diameter is about the same as the original 13’’ with the deep sidewalls. I had a low profile fitted to the spare which I was going to put on the front which will lower it about 2’’ without messing with the suspension. I should get on with it!

Depending on your plans, one way could be making the mismatched doors a feature by changing both to one colour. Wrapping them, or paint or gel coat, if one can do that. Alternately, could a resin and gel coat boat builder type shop maybe match it back to yellow?

I only want it to look smart, I am not going for a perfect restoration so I think if I cannot find a door I will spray it the correct colour yellow. I know it won't match perfectly but will be close enough for me
I am more optimistic about this now I have cut back a test section of the paintwork, it actually comes up well
