So i finally bought my first house after looking for about 4/5 years and seriously looking for the last 2
Its been tricky to find something in the area i live in, in the South East that was 1. Inside my budget and 2. Had parking/garage and workshop space for myself and the horde of old Fords i have found myself with. Hopefully with space for future purchases.
I also wanted some outside space for BBQs etc. Not an easy task trying to find somewhere on my budget, ive bought alone so house size wasn't really a priorty nor was the house condition. I can fixup the house and potentially extend but i can never add on more land if it didnt already have it!
So here it is, i found myself a nice 3 bed semi with a 'double plot' to the side of the house. A nice sized double garage had been erected already about 15 years ago and a nice large 3 car driveway leading to it from the rear of the property. Possibly 4 cars at a push (but thats not all)
The house is tucked away at the end of a no through road, and obsured by fences and other cars parked along the road.

Behind the garage (Towards the front of the property) there is a leanto covered already erected and was previously used as a bar/bbq area. I will be modifiying some of this to improve the roof, sort the electrics and turn it into a workshop/BBQ area, i will also have to redo most of the fencing and i will be able to extend this area quite significantly and potentially build another outbuilding

There is also a small shed at the bottom of the normal garden which i may use for an engine building room.

The first thing thats taking up my time at the moment is redecorating the entire house and sorting out some dubious modifications the previous owner decided on.
There isnt a personel door in the garage, so ill be cutting a hole in the back for access into the garage from the workshop/bar area
I will hopefully be able to fit a 4 Meter workbench out there. Which means ill increase my working area considerably from the black and decker workmate ive been making do with!
Unfortunatey the roof of the garage is leaking in a couple of spots fairly badly at the back and front right. So that needs to be sorted before i get the cars in there. its a flat top roof in felt atm, so ill be replacing with an epdm rubber roof.
It looks like its not been leaking too long, as the plywood roof doesnt look rotten, just wet. 2 or 3 plywood panels may need to be replaced. But ill see once it gets stripped.
Ideally i wanted to convert to a pitched roof for some loft space/potentially a lift but that was a long term plan.
I just need to get it watertight and dry

I'm lucky enough to not have to move in right away so the house and garage is empty right now.
Hopefully some dry weather comes soon, so i can get the roof fixed and i can start on painting and making it my own!
Mostly a place holder thread, so i can throw a few pictures up when some work starts taking place on the garage!
