Hi, has any body used any of the low temp Alloy Brazing rods I see advertised ?
I can weld ok and have soldered for many many years, I will be using it on 1.2mm alloy and 3 mm alloy, making bulkheads and low stress brackets for a competition car.
Can anybody recommend a make and where to get them in the UK as there seems to be quite a variation on costs and quality. Link below of the rods I'm talking about.

I've used them. They work. I found that the joints do not like any stress, they crack too easily for my liking. I have an AC/DC Tig welder now, the "brazing" rods lay in a draw. Strictly speaking they're not aluminium brazing rods. Aluminium brazing rods have a melting point very close to that of aluminium and are not easy to use (at least the ones I have used have been).

Cheers for that, all i need them for is to join some thin alloy bulkhead panels so no stress on them at all its more cosmetic really. What make did you use ?

Really appreciate all the info, as i thought there does seem to be a variation in the quality of these rods from different manufactures. I might try a one of the better rated products if only to feed my curiosity. Cheers

I've used those Duraflex rods before, fixed a pinhole in an aircon pipe but not had any success with anything larger like shown in the video, although that's probably down to my skills rather than the product.

I keep meaning to get some rods but need them so infrequently that I always forget to grab some.
