Afternoon, The price difference between various suppliers seems to vary considerably so thought I would ask if anybody has a recommended supplier in the Essexshire area that can either deliver or is close enough to Chelmsford for me to collect. Could get it from eBay but a bit wary as to the quality etc. Ta. P.

Paul,
Last time I tried I couldn't find any where local, I found the pressure pot blaster worked best with a fine - medium grade, the course stuff just blocked it all up, if you are only after a bag or 2 sometimes the blasting outfits will sell you a bag if you need more they generally want the work (probably not much more cost than buying grit in smallish quantities) the last place I used was Halls near Horndon on the Hill, a nice bunch of guys and a reasonable price. (£25 for a cast iron radiator), they also do zinc spraying etc.

Thanks Kevin. My local Jewsons think they may be able to supply me with a couple of bags - will find out tomorrow. Either that or eBay! P.

People do use kiln dried sand but this can be worse than regular glass for silicosis, do it outside and wear a decent mask would probably be OK for a one off job.

Not sure around Essex but I get all mine delivered from either NA Robson (who I think are in Blackpool) or whoevers best on ebay.
Use sand at your own risk.

As someone mentioned above, we get ours from the place that blasts our shells. Sells us a bucket full so we can do our own parts.
