I have felt the need to scratch the V12 itch, and I really do like the the interiors of these E6x cars. I semi-regret not buying my dad's 535d when that came up. I'm going to pretend I never saw this! I am disappoint................ I could see you in this Plus 6 mths time I could relieve you of it

I'd agree with the above, but bear this in mind. Not too long ago, folks said to avoid the P38s like the plague. They would ruin your life. Now, they're said to be OK, and a decent one is now £6k. My point? It's no different to went cambelts came about in the 80s. As I was reading the thread, I was thinking the same as ChasR wrote. It's been gone through before, but all cars hit a low, especially those not too simple, sell for peanuts get looked after by monkeys (I do like a generalisation) then, slowly, they get back into the hands of those who'll take their time to understand and work on them. Hey ho, you can buy a good motor again! I speak as a, "P38's are curse word, never buy one," owner.

I'm dissapointed in myself too bstardchild! That said, I do have my reasons for now. I can't, well, won't say too much, but let's just say I'm hoping something quite expensive and 'life' changing (well, finacially anyway!) goes through OK. That said, at least someone has removed the temptation from me.

Indeed - talking to Blown_Imp the buyer has an E38 750il an was looking for something small, economical and sensible as a daily driver but clearly decided why buy a corsa 1.0 for 4 large when you can have a 760il

Having fairly recently bought an Audi A8 as a “winter banger” I can relate to his thinking. The heated seats are nice. The thirst...... not so much.
