Anyone noticed they keep saying it’s done 356 and the odometer is on 357? I mean, it doesn’t affect the value at all but it’s just odd they keep mentioning the mileage and it isn’t the mileage. I’m sure it’s all still very genuine. Just.. couldn’t be bothered to actually check if moving it from where it was and doing a mile in it has.. well.. added a mile.

Well thats a new one to me, and somehow unexpected rear wheel drive. I like it. Does it have a slight look of Mitsubishi or something at the rear?

unexpected rear wheel drive. Longitudinal engine does not equal RWD, Renault have been transaxle or conventional FWD since 1960 or so...

Original. Even the tyres Never understood the mentality of buying a mundane car and then not using it.

Great to see this - brought back memories of the one a school friend's parents had, which I think was the same colour. Well thats a new one to me, and somehow unexpected rear wheel drive. It's front wheel drive. For quite a while, Renault used longitudinal engines for front wheel drive, rather than transverse. This was the case with the earlier 4, 12, first generation 5 and continued with the later 21* & 25 too. *The 21 featured both longitudinal and transverse, depending on the engine.

Somehow I doubt they "replaced the crank sensor", seeing as it's a conventional distributor fitted...
Amazing time-warp motor though.

My old man had blue estate for dog duties when i was a kid. He blew the 1400 engine and we spent a weekend transplanting the running gear from fuego 1600 turbo. Went pretty well after that.

Pity the steering wheel is at the "wrong" side of the car.. Otherwise tempting.. Thom

I had an 18 as my first car, I absolutely loved it. Had 190k miles on it by the time rust and electrics had it wicked way with it. 😢

With these time warp cars, just what do you do with them? It is the low mileage and absolute mint condition that makes them valuable. Put miles on them and they are just an old car. Keep them and you don't get the pleasure of driving it. A dilemma for the new owners.
