So the volvo was collected this Monday to go in for some repairs. Clogged pvc, stat, etc. First thing was a compression test to see if the engine is worth carrying in on with (2.5 10v) Monday morning started like this... I've just had a call from the garage. The compression test dry showed 200 across 4 cylinders and 195 on the 5th. Not bad for 200k ey?! All other bits are finished and the garage commented on how well it runs and how solid it is. Just shows, don't give up even when things seem like the end. I nearly did Might have to start a build thread!

I'm almost 100% certain that's not the best way to load/unload a car

Good news they dropped it off the ramps trying to load it but didn't do any other damage?

It definitely wasn't. It slipped off the wood blocks and was hanging from the bumper. Took an hour to get the car on the ground! Needless to say the recovery was free and the bumper paid for.
Yes - no other damage at all. The bumper even returned back to shape!
And also good news the engine is healthy and she's all fixed up. I genuinely thought I'd be breaking her and scrapping the shell!

Good news indeed. I thought my 306 daily smoker was not long for this world.. It was making some awful noises and I didn't have time to sort it. The MOT man said "yeah its passed but I had to put new anti roll drop links on and it needed a back box" It's like a new car, so quiet! It's a lovely feeling.

The Joy's of 1.9 dTurbo 306 ownership. Rear silencer fell off mine 10+ years ago on the a92 and all it did was make it slightly quicker. No detriment to fuel consumption (dunfermline to glenrothes daily commute) and a lovely turbo Twitter to make the pcp owners take notice a smoky old pug wanted past. Good times
