Fantastic job there! Youve really captured the look of the Meccano cars well, whilst still making it a little different. I hope you are keeping it polished, it really adds to the look. I know what you mean about the cost, their value is crazy. If it wernt for the oppertunity I had to do my boss's one, I would never have been able to do one, and it was a great itch to scratch, so I was happy to spend my time on it for free, as part of my hobby.

That's gorgeous. And with the open wheels it looks like a "hotrod" version of the original car... which is essentially what you've actually done anyway. I like it.

Pretty sure the meccano car was based loosely on a 30's Duesenberg Not convinced - the style of the Meccano car is much more like an SS 1, Aston Martin International or low chassis Invicta, which were all contempories of the toy. It's generic enough to be pretty much any of those as well as plenty of other UK cars of the era. Aston  Invicta  SS 1  |

With so many build options for the Meccano car, long wheelbase, short wheelbase, round tail, boat tail, arches with or without running boards, and 2 different grills there are quite a few options to build something inspired by your favourite car of the time, I think its loosely based on all of the cars of the time, whilst not intending to be any of them. Another car that has similarities is the Bugatti of the time  Rolls Royce and Bentleys of the time are a similar shape as well. The instructions show the different build options as 'sports tourer', 'grand tourer' etc etc, which I guess saves on copyright and wotnot. |

They are all similar, difficult to decide. Definitely not Ford focus style though
