He was a real icon. Interesting story of him having a gun pulled on him by a mobster during filming as he was close to lana Turner. He disarmed the guy, bending his hand back. I read a slightly different version of that tale, that Lana Turner was dating a mafia bloke at the time they filmed together, during a break the mafia bloke slapped her, and Sean decked him. The gangster was Johnny Stompanato, Mickey Cohen's right hand man. He subsequently got stabbed to death by Turner's teenage daughter when Stompanato was attacking Turner. Wikipedia reports that he did pull a gun but was swiftly disarmed, so it must be true.

Hell Drivers (1957) is one of my favorite films, Sean played the part Johnny Kates in truck number 19. He only plays a minor roll but must have been cutting his teeth in 57. I was going to mention Hell Drivers but you beat me to it. It was one of my mum's favourite films. When my lottery win lands I have devious plans for a Dodge Kew, Hawletts livery and a hot Cummins 6bt, or even a Cummins L10 if it will fit under the bonnet.

Just don't mention Zardoz, what what ive read its dire, largely unfathomable, and written , directed and starring Charley Boorman's dad. Connery only did the job as , being the former James Bond other productions feared they couldn't afford him so didn't even offer.i suppose the ladies might like it as its the only time he wore a leather mankini that I'm aware of.lol
