I was going to just go in the deep end , but asking if there are any Bead rollers about makes more sense
I have never used one, but may just try some rolling soon, when making up the doors for the Rezin Rockit.
The idea is just to add some swage lines to give it a bit of strength.
And I suspect 1.2mm plate is the way to go.
Any advice for starting out, stuff to completely avoid, or pursue?
Thanks

Using a hand cranked one on your own is very tricky and virtually impossible on a panel the size of a door skin.

I've got one of the versions made out of a piece of thick plate. Bought because I had never seen them as cheap, and was expecting to make new floors.
You're welcome to borrow it to figure out what you need. PM me
1.2mm thick steel probably wont be needed if you rolling beads in it

Darren has offered his metal brake bender and bead roller, manual as well. I want some small steps in the leading and trailing vertical edges, in order to attach the nets. Not figured out how yet, unless purely by tension of frame is well planned.

How about a Shrinker/stretcher?
You can do a lot interesting sheetmetal work with a jigsaw, scraps of MDF or ply, clamps and hammers.......

You don't think gluing pieces of scrap ply together to fit the hole and hammering some sheetmetal over to quickly form your door frames isn't quick & dirty?

But welding flat steel plate to 10mm rebar is dirty too.

Would making the door frame from pipe be an option? Would give you a rigid frame which the webbing can be wrapped around Ttfn Glenn

I've got one of the cheapy eBay ones. They work much, much better if you can weld on some beefy angle iron to reinforce them and stop them from bending. It's happy with 0.9mm steel, but didn't like 1.2mm much without reinforcement.

Brilliant results I was at a neighbor this afternoon and he has one too. Said I could use it. Looking forward to it.
