Hi all,
This is my 2001 Ford Fiesta project in Amparo blue that bringing back up to standard has helped keep me sane during the madness of this year.
Good bits:
New MOT, expires 29/9/21
New starter motor, comes with 2yr guarantee
New auxiliary belt
Under 54k miles, genuine as per the MOT history and I know the family who've owned it for years
Exceptionally clean, inside and out. I have been trying to teach myself detailing* on this car, and it's come up really well I'm chuffed
Barely any wear to any of the interior
New wipers front and rear
Decent battery
New front discs and pads, although they aren't working as well as they should due to the fact the car has hardly moved- 68 miles in the last two years. It needs to be used!
Quite a bit of service history detailing oil changes, new fuel pump etc. Some of it is from a while ago but again, it's done so few miles should still be good
Manual everything- Windows, sunroof, locking- Less to go wrong
Two keys, radio code and all manuals etc
*just how to polish without the car looking like it's had a 3 week old gallon of milk with camembert chucks thrown over it
Bad bits:
Rear nearside arch has a meduim-sized rust blister #Ford. I can't decide whether to attempt to sort this myself or not. Depends how the response to the Ad is I guess.
Some corrosion underneath (as mentioned on MOT advisories), I plan to Hammerite** all of it this afternoon to put that to bed
The sill on one side has been patched up a few years back. Structurally it seems fine, but not very pretty. I may try to tidy this up also.
Tyres ree not brilliant (old) but still plenty of tread- 4-5mm on the front, 3mm at the back

A few scratches and two very shallow door dings, to be expected unfortunately. Not many though!
**Or whatever my Motor Spares shop has in stock/says is best
It's a really sweet little car, goes alright (considering it has 55bhp) and enjoyable to drive. A potential classic? Maybe, maybe not. Or, a really cheap reliable way to get from A to B without having to spend anything on it- As I did that, and am now skint.
I may consider a swap- I'd like to have a go at say a MK4 Golf GTI (or similar)- bring it up to a cleanliness, upgrade parts, create a little luxury cruiser thing. Must have a sunroof though.
Thanks for looking, comments/thoughts welcomed
