Newer pics of this material just don't have the same 'interest' for me, this photo looks raw, totally grass roots racing, love it! Maybe make up a calendar for next year, see who would be interested?

Fantastic photo! To me theres a difference between a snapshot, and actually capturing a moment in time. That captures the moment perfectly. Thanks for sharing.

I'm now hoping you have a bunch more photos to go with it Sadly no. My Dad took this from the support car. I have one of the car with me in the pits (taken by some one else) and that's it. I have a mountain of photos to sort from my Mum's estate, I might get lucky. |

I started racing in 1973 and this was taken at the Easter meeting 1974. It was quite a well attended meet (so there was a useful "Pit Gate money" cash return!)  |

Another photo has turned up! A cousin who drag raced a blown 650 Triumph was at a family funeral recently and his brothers widow came with him and his wife. Got talking to her and she thought she had some photos from back then. Today an envelope turned up with just one photo. Unfortunately it is poor quality but it's adding to the collection (of three!)  |

This was the finish line in May 2017. I hadn't been to the Pod in over 15 years prior to that point and it was quite funny being there on a non race day and having free reign to walk anywhere. It's amazing how much the skyline has changed there with the big shed on the left and the all the wind turbines. Barn was gone from the start line. Pretty sure they've extended the grass bank nearly all the way down to the finish line too.  |

Great pic(s) certainly better than the toilet facilities at the Pod. Then & now 🤣🤦🏼♂️ The toilets have improved, they used to be cubicles with seats over a drop of seething poop, with a 5 second drop time, that famous that I was asked about the "Santa pod Toilets" by an American at Speedworld in Florida, on a Sunday after a long hot summer weekends racing the smell was something to behold, sometimes enhanced by the fact you had a ginormous hangover from the Saturday night revelries |

Love how basic that trailer is. I made a similar trailer! Mini sub frame widened, bed angle iron, roof joist timbers. The tow hitch and jockey wheel were the biggest expense. But I lost the actual jockey wheel going to the Pod as I didn't realise that it was running along the ground with the low back end of my fathers Rover 2000!  |

Great old Dragracing pictures Did you ever race @ Avonpark late 80s when it looked like this ? Iam in the black morris minor I still have on road today I stopped racing in late 75 pending marriage (wrong!) So never got to Shakey. I did race at Silverstone and Snetterton though. |

The trailer! What a piece of cr@p that was!. The wheel channels were folded up at work and "borrowed", the rest was scrounged. It had no suspension as I couldn't find any and couldn't afford to buy any.

He had a blown 650 Triumph, also kept a Gold Star in his living room! His last bike was an MV Augusta, had to change to a Harley Sportster because of back issues. |
