Are you putting a damp proof membrane between the steel and the timber? I think I would probably consider it. Morning mate No, not planning to. I can see no reason based on construction and use, to add more complexity to it. The timber fits between the steels, and roofing on top. Adding plastic to it would just add a water trapping barrier. I would expect everything under the roof sheets to stay dry and keep dry once built.

I agree that plastic would be worse than useless in that situation. Was thinking more along the lines of malthoid or a similar bituminous material if only to protect the steel from the effects of treatment salts leaching out of the timber over time. I'm an engineer's draughtsman and that's one of the standard things we specify for bridges with timber spiking pieces on steel main beams. Admittedly a bridge deck gets a lot wetter in service than the underside of a roof so you may well be old and grey before the potential corrosion becomes a serious issue.

He’s already old and grey so you’re saying it could happen anytime soon?

Today, before work..... And I also got this message from a member on here..... happy for him to expose himself. Hi Rian, Have you found yet if your winch is in working order ?? Only asking because I have a "girder trolley" (?? if that's what they're called lol) just wants a coat of paint, Yours for if it's any use to you, (in the spirit of Grizz,) FOC N***** So I went to the garage when I got back from the hospital after this: MRI of my lumbar and sacral spine which is a bit (lot) knackered. And cleaned and tested the 500kg block and tackle I had rescued at some point. Tested and found to be working perfectly well, untested on a load though. Cleaned up After cleaning and masking the block, I added a first coat of orange, next coat in the morning. And lastly......... Should, could these work on the rear end of the Rezin Rockit as a name? .

[quote author=" grizz" Should, could these work on the rear end of the Rezin Rockit as a name? . [/quote] I think they could work quite well, maybe in a slightly different format, replacing the X with a rocket sticker, just a thought

Had a thought wheel wise as my neighbour has an eagle chassis that has Land Rover wheels on the front. Figured it could be a cheap ish way to decent offset 16” steels or alloys but a quick look on eBay showed the adapters were about £135 a pair 😩

So I need to either find a set of used, cheap, unwanted 4x108 to something Japanese or popular, or just stick to what is available in 4x108 in the right offset.

Perfect as the main beams are 135mm wide and the smaller ones 100mm So it has been established that the block and tackle works well. Gift accepted to be attached to the roof beams. Clean up and go.

The front hubs could be swapped for Granada mk1 or 2 to give you 5x112 PCD, then its just some wobble nuts on the front, and adapters for the back and away you go
