I'm still thinking, lose the windscreen, full cage, no doors, slammed to the ground, flying helmet and goggles, or full face helmet. Why haven't you done it yet?

Lose the existing upright windscreen frame, but incorporate a new raked back one in the rollcage frame...

Oxallic acid for the rust and some washing powder . It won’t attack the grp. As for sides I might suggest a press stud tonneau type vinyl or using boat canopy turn buttons, not sure about the net thing as it would be flappy and maybe look like a stock car 🚘 Let’s see what happens, need to also try polish the gel coat. you might want to wait until you can drive it to decide what to do with the doors, I briefly drove my series 2 Landie with the doors off, it was down right uncomfortable and freezing cold on a day when it was perhaps 15 deg C. Maybe you would find something like a bond bug door better for the UK! I do not really want doors. Side bar or side nets maybe. I have no idea what is fitted Dan but will just repair and replace as far as I can go. Hopefully its still all good enough. Fingers crossed. from the pictures posted so far it looks like it's all cortina with coil springs front and rear which will make lowering a much simpler operation. (air sprngs would also be an relatively easy fit) Pics to follow later for everyone to freak out about Ask exhaust bending guys (US car scene). They can probably help you with pipe bending. Thom ps: looks great now, would not lower it too much. Wheels look great, only need 70 or 80 series M+S tyres. Or a local farmer........ Looks like it’s cleaned up well Grizz Thanks, happy so far. That cage looks scrap, if your looking to save weight and add lightness, might I suggest a more braced cage in T45 which is both light and strong, bars that extend down the windscreen pillar to the chassis and a bar across the top and behind the dashboard and a cross brace for the belts to pick up at roughly shoulder height at the rear. I'm sure that somewhere on the net I've seen sites that allow you to check stresses in your chosen design. Looking forward to the engine choice and power output. Cage now cut up. Basic basic. Personally for the utilitarian look I’d stick to white and black combos for a jeep style but if you fancy having fun with a livery then it screams camel Dakar rally style to me. Maybe over played and passe though? Simple is good.

Opinions again. I do not have any of the stuff needed yet, and not given the it a lot of technical consideration. But. I a, thinking a simple, hinged pipe bar where the yellow masking tape lies. Then attached to it, a racing style window net (re-used, recycled) hanging down on a 5mm to 10mm Max rod shaped frame for it to be attached to.
99% visual, racer style. Not really an airbag or soft plush cushion. I also thought that buying some nylon webbing and stitching it all together by hand was an option, albeit not a clever one. Opinions? Magnets in the bottom of the netting to keep it secured maybe? Frame will be secure.

Wow, Rian, I've just spent another hour catching up on the fastest growing thread on the Internet and boy was it worth it to see the boyish grins on your face. It's been a while! To be truly functional, the rollbar needs to be mounted much more securely than 2 bolts on a skinny plate. As for size you may want to check sizes of tubing bender dies as most are made to do 2" as a maximum or around 50mm. I would recommendt at least .120"/3mm wall thickness for the same safety and strength reason. Most racing bodies recommend a minimum of 36 sq in of mounting plate, but with a fibre body, a 10mmx75mmx75mm plate welded to the frame should suffice leaving room for 4 threaded holes to bolt the rollbar to. I would really recommend going with a similar rollcage like the example you pictured in orange for chassis strength and safety. How about some rear suspension pics? Hi to you in Arizona Ric, Thanks for the reply. Yes, this thread seems to be on steroids. But maybe because we all own it, and the car is within everyone’s reach

Not too dissimilar but would work just as well... And that was just me messing around. The new one is clearly retro styled. I do like it.

There is only one option for this... Love the look, but not on this one I'm still thinking, lose the windscreen, full cage, no doors, slammed to the ground, flying helmet and goggles, or full face helmet. Why haven't you done it yet? Maybe, but I have had a slightly raked screen in mind. It works for me, along with the visual of a slightly laid back roll cage, and lower screen Lose the existing upright windscreen frame, but incorporate a new raked back one in the rollcage frame... Yes. Ermis, no thanks, no doors, no roof, maybe a bikini. This is brillianr mate, defo full cage.... truck LS twin turbo ? haha Errrmmmm....??

Is the front screen strong i keep looking at it since you took the 2 central bars out and thinking the wind at speed might fold it in on you.
