I reckon you’ve added enough value just by cleaning it, to break even on your costs so far if you decide to pull the plug. Looks so much better without the bull bar. Absolutely, Bull bar is,all good and well, but detracts from the classic front end. Interesting you saying that. craigrk and a few others on other forums have said that it has increased value, plus the fact that it is now in the South. Prefer not to pull the plug on this 🚀

You could keep the roll bar as a frame for basic weather hood /covers ... just thinking ... Morning mate. Roll bar is absolutely staying. It is a safety critical item imho. And part of the aesthetic of the car in my mind. I am looking for a thicker item, and slightly different design so that I can mount the anchors of the safety belts on it. Have been looking for truck items, but they maybe too thick. However, want a slightly thicker diameter pipe visually. Removing the one that is fitted is just to help with cleaning and as mentioned, will be to replace it with better. Like this-ish Also want it tilted back a bit.

Absolutely agree about it increasing in value. That’s looking superb. The front lights look like generic trailer or caravan type lights, I reckon you could clean up the backing plates and lenses easily enough, cut and polish a bit of alloy to make the reflectors a bit bigger and swap out the bulb holders easily enough. Keeping it basic will see it up and running quickly enough.

Cannot be trailer units, no red lens for stopping. So has to be something else. I think

Alternatively, this Interesting, I have seen one (the black £1500.00 on iirc) that had that done. Not to my taste. Square light suits square shape and straight line of it.

re the front side / indicator lights could you gut them get some cheap bulb holders from the e of bay and reuse the lens /case ?

Remove the whole light unit, and take it down to Aghabridge on Medway City estate. They're truck factors, so a browse of their stock and catalogues should provide a suitable modern replacement without any hassle. 7" round lamps are readily and cheaply available with the sidelights included, which could make the indicator choice easier
I would take the rears with me too.

If this is what you want to achieve (like some jeep shaped superseven kit car), you should really ignore all that talking of value. But it should make finding some fitting wheels much easier. Because now you can remove those stupidly wide arches, which to be filled would probably require some huge all terraim tires. So cut off and downsize the arches, get wheels you really like and then create arches around these, once the rockit is slammed as desired. All this talk of incresed value will only end up in a non-slammed stock dutton, but certainly not in the targeted grizz-in rockit. btw. those light units remind me of late renault 4 front indicators, but I doubt they are. And as the pic seems to show, the roll bar can be used for a bikini top to protect against rain AND shine. Thanks for removing that bull bar thing btw.

If you look at that picture the scope for getting this thing ABSOLUTELY on the deck is going to be a relatively easy task as the chassis is already Z notched. Might need a bit of creative repurposing, and possibly a few cups of tea whilst sucking through teeth, but that chassis definitely has... potential.... At worst you can potentially move the subframe up in the chassis and then work out sump clearance etc - there appears to be enough room to move stuff up and back. With access to your welder mates I would think that there is a relatively simple solution to gaining the altitude required. What the back like? Is the chassis Z'd notched as well or just straight. As for fitting supper wide wheels... easy as getting some Jeep flares and adding them to the existing fibreglass. This NEEDS super deep dish somethings. Steels maybe but more likely Watanabe or SSRs would look spot on with the look you are going for. Come closer so I can get my hand further into your wallet.... P. Or some revolution 4 spokes.. Yes....Yes....

I think the indicators are the same as fitted to a Lotus Excel, a quick search says Lucas but not sure what they were fitted to originally.

Yes, so many people cannot see past the moss and fungus. Cleaning up means I get to inspect it and get a feel for it already. At this point, looking at what is out there, and prices, I,a, still happy with it costing me about £780.-0 so far. I think that’s an aftermarket fuse/relay box.
