Amazing what you can get done in an hour. Cleaning the carport and paving at the garage. Moving the Rezin Rockit body up the drive and starting the donor MX5 which happily started up and moved around under its own steam. Then washed the fiberglass body with chlorine bleach gel and a soft broom. Its amazing how dirty it got over the last year or so, grinder dust, sawdust etc. Once rinsed. It looked better. And finally all the bits moved into place for the next phase. nickwheeler and a few others like westbay, kevins jimi Paul Y and the whole team of contributors should smile at the next few days planned actions. First thing is to find a bit of time to unpack the big shed, where the engine hoist and engine stand are stashed, along with a few other reserve tools. Once unpacked they can go into the carport area. Keep in mind engine gets a full service, cambelt etc. My holidays will be well used I suspect. Progress is Progress. Brilliant progress Rian, I'll give this project 'till about March before it's MOT'd given the excellent speed you're moving at, Nigel Thank you Nigel. Good to speak this morning. I would be as chuffed as a chuffed thing if we had it on the road for Spring. Imagine that.

Dark Dismal Wet Foggy Cold Day……….. All the good intentions shoved firmly under the carpet. I had planned on using my “lunch break” to go unpack the shed and get some tools out. Failed dismally as it was wet and drizzly down there. Mate Fil “Sparkplug” did do a quick photoshop early morning. Remember the cracks on the bonnet/hood.?? Well, I gave it some thought and came to the conclusion that a pair of stickers may make life a lot easier. Final design still open to editing and suggestions. But you get the idea. Weekend weather is forecast to get colder, so maybe not as much fun as one would like. But hey………..….. Keep hoping.

Nice work Rian, that’s come along way since I last saw it Hmmmm March time possibly?? I could be your near neighbour by then if the move goes without a hitch I may get a ride out in it! Morning Dan, The way to guarantee a ride is to come over when nickwheeler is cracking the whip and to assist, either getting dirty, donating blood, knuckle skin, advice or making coffee. I have been awake since 01.00 with everything hurting, just came upstairs and got into bed, something I never do. Plans were for the shed to get cleared out, but it’s not happening. I hurt down to my feet, weird. Maybe the booster I got yesterday.

Feel better soon, I've been putting off my booster as the first two both made me feel awful (in different ways)
Maybe take a day to read back through this thread to see how much progress you've made?

The booster did make me ache for two days The previous two jabs didn’t Hope you feel better soon mate 👍 Thanks. I,feel,a,whole load better, so I will carry on tomorrow as planned. Feel better soon, I've been putting off my booster as the first two both made me feel awful (in different ways) Maybe take a day to read back through this thread to see how much progress you've made? What a great idea. One forgets where you started sometimes. I did not go back to read it all, but you did remind me of all the work done so far, between myself and a bunch of guys, and Sally (for encouraging and pushing me to go play) I know one always forgets one or more people to thank in these processes, but I continue to be thankful for all the help. I feel 98% human again now, so tomorrow morning I will head out, unpack the shed and get the stuff out needed to drag the engine out etc. Weather permitting, but I am sure that I will get started, regardless.

So Today has started thus. Foggy, cold, wet outside, even under the carport it looks like it has been raining. Usually these are the temperatures that sees the likes of Paul Y and the indestructible Super Fiesta®️ ( and of late nickwheeler )make an appearance to spanner for a day on an American V8 of some sort that I may have bought wearing rose tinted spectacles a few weeks into winter. Like the Not a Project Chevy Blazer. This guy has always got a smile, even when things go badly wrong, he just grins and says something like “well, let’s think about it, we just need to get on and do this thing” Well, I am still indoors because the fog is thick, wet and cold outside. But I spoke to Paul earlier while he was walking his dogs in a field, and for the first time ever, I heard him say it was cold outside, despite wearing gloves. So maybe I am not as soft as I thought I had become. I will be outside ny 11.00 to start unpacking all the treasures from the big shed though, as I really need to keep the momentum going, both for the build as well as my head. Later.

Thanks Gents, all is good. Just need to pull on my big boy pants and get out there in the cold. It only hurts for a few minutes till everything is numb and pain disappears. Jobs need doing.

Grizz, I take my hat off to you working outside in this weather.
When I was younger it didn't bother me and I used to even be outside welding in the snow.
As I got older I started to move from outdoors to in the garage and eventually insulated it (more for sound reduction) and then had a heater which was lovely.
At my old garage I didn't insulate it but still had a bit of a heater which I could work by and the new garage is again insulated and I have a heater.
If I was working outside it would have to be a really good reason, i'm getting soft in my old age.

5° isn't cold, just an encouragement to work a bit quicker Absolutely. Actually moved the teardrop trailer and busy trying to clear some of the floor up in the right hand side to lay stuff like wiring loom when it comes out. Also going to pack all the spanners, sockets etc away just to create a new baseline for finding the right tools. Its a slow deliberate job but needs doing. Will send you a PM too as some things are best not said in public ………..

Since my back collapsed earlier this year I have had to push it a bit. The cold usually gets into my bones and that hurts. But as nickwheeler says, if you keep active and keep the pace up it helps. I want this build on the road by Easter (not sure what year) as the C10 needs to get done. I will be 59 in January and some of the abuse my body has been subjected to over the years is catching up. Not all of us are like etypephil who at 71 still runs circles around guys half his age. Right. Back to sorting stuff. Today may end up as a garage clear up.

Randomly.
I have a nice Muddy Fox mountain bike left here by Andy, the welder lodger in 2020 that he got for his wife.
He had bought a new rear gearset for it but never fitted it as he got distracted.
Free to collect anyone wants it, and wants to fit the new gearset.
Or the White Transit gets to pick it up off the sidewalk.
PM please if you want it.
Bike gone to a good home now.

As the Chevy truck is on the back burner for a while (sorry, I mentioned the C word), would it be worth your while to have a shuffle around and move the truck out of the garage and put the Rezin Rocket in it's place? It's cracking on at a good pace and you, I have no doubt, will be working on it throughout winter. Once it's warmer, you can move it back under the car port, where hopefully it should be a lot closer to completion (are these things ever really completed?). Just a thought
