A little late to the party but it looks 100% better just having the windscreen removed. Part of me wants the screen to follow the same angle as the door post, though it does look better raked back further. Having previous experience of old kit cars I feel your pain with the fixings, it’s surprising what some people deem suitable for use on a vehicle!
Video is cool, driving style reminded me of why I have the 100E; it might only have four cylinders but it’s still fantastic for stress relief
Hi mate,
I get you on the angle of the screen and door frame.
But the screen and roll bar should form a new union and visual focus.
As far as the fixings etc are concerned, a lot of it is excusable, because often the builders are enthusiasts, and not engineers or producers.
My own brother who is in the engineering Corps in the army, and has built a lot of random stuff over the years was renamed by my dad 40 plus years ago to (translated to make sense) “Joe Rattlecan” as he would cover stuff he built in rattle can paint, silver being his favourite colour. He actually posted on another SA bike forum I frequent that the guy may have run out of appropriate fasteners. Unacceptable to me, get in your car and fetch more of what you need.
The fact this stood out in all weathers in Scotland for much more than 10 years, filled with car parts, leaves, plant growth and no covering at all, means everything is very rotten.
Regarding the video, I loved it, despite the noise and destruction going on a bit longer than needed,
I think it was Tiff Needell who said years ago that he had some of the best fun drifting a 1000cc Morris Minor iirc.
It does not have to be brutal power.
My 67 105E 1200cc Anglia was great fun on farm roads 30 years ago.
