IIRC it still needs reregistering on the beetle chassis, but just as a rebody, so no IVA test? Can I claim credit for being the first for suggesting the beetle chassis approach, either some pages back or in another thread? It's good for my self-esteem... Yes you, certainly can lay claim. But it will sound like a beetle.. And..... Which is ok if its a beetle Of course. If it was mine, I'd stick with the Cortina suspension. It will probably drive nicer, and give better/ cheaper engine & gearbox options. Seems to me the least convincing parts of this body are the fenders. So I'd see if I could fit aftermarket flares meant for a CJ Jeep. And / or fill the wheelwells with a big dia wheel, like a 17" 4 lug wheel for a Fox Body Mustang or something off a 924 Porsche ( same boltpattern ) Agreed, love those wheel arch extenders, just don’t know what I would do with the front end to change the look. Finding the right wheels, affordable cheap may be more difficult. I still prefer the Jago Jeeps shape as it is more simplistic. And yes to sticking with what is there in the suspension, as long as I can rebuild it all without things crumbling in my hands. One of the weekend jobs I have lined up, is to get under its body, and get some penetrating oil, like SAS in and onto every nut and bolt. And then to repeat next week and again the following weekend. It may just help when it comes to making everything turn. Ah, yes, that’s the one that I was thinking of ^^^ Yup. Knew it too, but overdone imho, but not my ride, not my way, so all good. But it will sound like a beetle.. Not if you fit a Subaru engine Indeed. 🏁🚀😈♻️

With slowly returning to normal, and going out again, I got this delivery today. Guess the honeymoon could not last forever In another postal related trick, Fil, who went to fetch the Rezin Rockit with his camper van, for the cost of diesel, was not impressed when I rounded up the cost and “overpaid” him. So he sent me an envelope with the receipts and a £2.00 scratch card. That made me laugh out loud, realising it was no use trying to challenge the man to a game of one upmanship Then I made a protesting Sally scratch..... No win though, which was also fine. Imagine a win though. In other news. I went to see mate Darren and he offered me Burger The sweetest stray cat that lives in a car in his yard, Sally and others said yes, I am still contemplating. Inside the shop, this is one of his side projects, alongside the real day job tasks happening. Meet Project Covid. V8 Beetle. Planned for a beach race called Race the Waves Out in the yard, he had this galvanised car transporter trailer, was twin axle, one got damaged, yours for £250.00 collected on Sheppey. Wish I had space and use for it. So next stop, inside a container, crawling through a caravan body....... To this. Gearbox side. Comes with a wiring loom, hopefully the ECU is somewhere too. Should be in there. And found one 5 point harness. May not be the right thing for the car and seats I have , but hopefully it works, and once I have a second one, which Bill in Scotland has a Black example of. Displayed on the Vauxhall Viva’s hood, where Burger lives. Meet Burger, not a Harley, and not yet adopted, but certainly has put the cat amongst my mental pigeons. So there you have it, engine and gearbox. Clearly needs a lot more........

There’s some fascinating stuff in that yard; I spy the OSF of a Consul Classic or Consul Capri; and an Amazon estate. Oh, and that’s a great looking cat.

Love how everyone is trying to change the direction of the project but that’s what’s great about this forum we all have our own ideas no sheep here Keep it simple is the way forward Grizz as originally envisioned Recon the cortina brakes and suspension -lower it Mx5 engine and box- pick the gurus on here for ecu wiring Choose the wheels &tyres - budget friendly if poss Body -keep white with vinyl graphics .. cheapest option Interior - seats ,harnesses, roll bar, steering wheel Drive the off it 👍👍 Not sure where the fox came from but I’ll leave it in as it made me smile

Dude. Thats a handsome cat! Yup 👍 Why wouldn't you want burger? Totally 🐱 There’s some fascinating stuff in that yard; I spy the OSF of a Consul Classic or Consul Capri; and an Amazon estate. Oh, and that’s a great looking cat. And that’s just what’s visible. So much treasure there. And a cat. Well, there were two. Everyone likes a Burger. I would too, but I already have a Sherman, a Moneypenny and a Daisy. And only 5 rooms. Yes, I liked her, and had room in my heart and space in the house. She needed to choose. So, that cat has everyone's blessing, has the name of men's favorite meal and you like him as well....I am sure there is room in the Grizz Inn Absolutely Renee, I think she would have come here even if nobody approved. Big homecoming report on page 55 of the Galaxy thread. Did not want to litter the Rezin Rockit launch pad with pussy pics. forum.retro-rides.org/thread/211832/grizz-2001-gen1-ford-galaxyAnd having had three adopted Cats when I moved here in 2010 there is still room, despite lodgers. But they always need to move in of their own accord. I am very pleased and thankful Darren thought me a worthy slave for this one. She has already taken on inspection and security duties without me asking her to. Straight into checking, marking and approving my bootfair purchases when I got home earlier. Drive the Assss off it 👍👍Not sure where the fox came from but I’ll leave it in as it made me smile (Fox is a family friendly censor, so you need to sneak alternative symbols in) Thanks for the reply. Very rare on a thread that’s hit over 27k views and 540 replies where people ( I am people too, ask craigrk ) do not read everything, or miss the point, and you have very much summed up 27 pages here. glenanderson will agree here. Today’s job once I make it out the house, will be to lift the front high, on axle stands, and the rear on some ramps Followed by a load of SAS or Duck oil on every moving part that has a nut, bolt, fastener on it and all places that have rubber bushes. That should be good energy spent before the V5c lands. .

With the full harness belt , keep in mind you won't be able to reach the dashboard switches ... Indeed. I would prefer a set of harnesses that have a single anchor to the rear on the roll bar so it can feed through the RX8 seats. I heard from Paul Y that they are a bit rubbish if you land upside down in a ditch too.

These are on FB. jonsey I would be happy to pay £80.00 for those if I could get them lifted and brought a lot closer to London from,SA44 4ST on the other side of the country from here. I really like them a lot. Even in yellow, they made me visualise them on the car already.
