Grizz, can’t remember if you sorted your steering wheel/boss problem. Been meaning to post this for a while! Adapter I made from a piece of aluminium where I had a miss-match on my Scimitar. Hi Thom Thank you for taking the time post and share. I decided to stick with the MX5 wheel for now. But do prefer the simple skinnier ones.

Tested the new “Fit them after MOT pass” lights for their DRL connection last night. Certainly brighter than the pics show. Pretty silly, but pleased regardless. Some stuff must be done. Also bought some fresh clear 5mm pipe and a T Connector for the windscreen washer. Removed the reservoir and spent 30 minutes cleaning the very manky inside with brushes, some sand and water. Looked better. Reassembled, connected and added some pink Cherry fragrance screen wash. Silly for, sure, but the only colour under the hood at this point. Concentrate diluted at 25% and pump tested…… pass. One more small change I wanted was to remove and replace the standard hooter/horn with something a touch more loud and “Wake The F#@£ Up” as a horn should only be used in emergency, at which point I have no intention of tickling anyone, rather a full punch in the ribs. Other jobs to addressed this week, as and when I can get to it is lift the rear, try get to the fuel pump plug and wiring, or else drop the fuel tank, thankfully still empty, but no lightweight. Also connect up the tow hitch trailer wiring plug and bleed the clutch now that Nicks lever is fitted. More jobs to get to, obviously.

Small mishap yesterday with wiring and relays…. Sorted by John. After work tonight…… I know a certain nickwheeler may not like the next episode. But it is so true to the “Owner style” builds…. Some La Cucaracha horns. Resulting in this. And this…. John advising and taking pics I was not aware of. Mounted Had to shut shop at this point as Sally had offered dinner at her place, a nice change. . Hope to complete the fitting tomorrow or Thursday evening, BUT…… There you go….. Always something to do. .

Have you considered installing a locomotive horn? Yes Sir. But technically it is a challenge.

Have you considered installing a locomotive horn? They need a lot of air, like a compressor and reserve. I think the two fitted will be fine.

Hi. Next time you need to clean a washer or overpressure bottle walk in a bathroom and take a few of these tabs to clean false teeth.. ;-) Works like a dream. Love your La cucaracha horn reminds me of the Dukes of Hazard (and Daisy ;-) ). Will definitely consider one of these as soon as my Duett is that far ready. Thom

I had an old aircraft switch as a horn button on one of my old boats. Looked like a machine gun switch from a spitfire but was probably summat innocuous. Was cool though.

When you fitted the ‘standard’ horn, I thought air horns would be more appropriate to your build philosophy and then you went and did it! Regarding the scoop, how would it look reversed as a hot air outlet? The foot print of it might fit well with the taper of the moulding in the bonnet too 🙂

I like that, Leave everyone wondering what's under the bonnet, Nigel I suspect the whole look is somewhat incongruous for a “Jeep” Lowered, Road tyres etc….. Keep ‘em guessing. I had an old aircraft switch as a horn button on one of my old boats. Looked like a machine gun switch from a spitfire but was probably summat innocuous. Was cool though. Nice idea too. When you fitted the ‘standard’ horn, I thought air horns would be more appropriate to your build philosophy and then you went and did it! Regarding the scoop, how would it look reversed as a hot air outlet? The foot print of it might fit well with the taper of the moulding in the bonnet too 🙂 Antisocial thuggery. Horns are made up,of,two, sets, so not really right, but noisy enough that someone may want to punch me in the throat if I over use them. Scoop idea sounds good as a functional add-on. NO! It spoils the clean (Jeep) line! Thom For now……. A stay of execution Thom, but watch this space when I get bored. I may just cut off the mounting studs and bond it directly so it does not damage the bonnet. Time will tell. Yeah, well in keeping with your build ethos ... Thanks mate. Yes, certainly in the tongue in cheek ethos, and trying something a touch different. Yeah, well in keeping with your build ethos ... Yep, like it drove through a garage where everything was covered in glue I know that if you were here, you would have frog marched me away from the glue, tools and parts…… repeating the mantra “Less is more Rian, Less is more” I had a good laugh at you comment on a glue covered world.
