Client engineer sent me a work related email written entirely in Afrikaans a while ago. I suspect he was extracting the urine. Good to see this project nearing completion. Interested to see what comes next. i know what’s coming next :-)    |

another project in the making  Just getting these wheels cleaned and painted will be a project in themselves. Imagine them on the Rezin Rockit, wider tyres, detailed, painted and even lower than it is now….. Thanks to westbay for poking his fingers in my wallet like Paul Y does…… I now have some of these badges headed my way. Certainly apt for this build.  should upset the purists going on a ratty 59 Lambretta  |

The clutch M/C is Mazda, which is why we had to adapt it to the Ford pedal. Thanks Nick. Ordered one. Great news to hear it running, all the hard work, sleepless nights, pain and expenditure are coming together now  Yes, good feeling, beats a bonfire. Great to hear it lives, and sounds suitably sporty too! The fun continues. Has a nice rasp. My Afrikaans is exclusively:- 1) Types of Animals 2) Beer, and how to order it 3) Swearing. Mailman and EBay made me happy. New clutch Master cylinder came. Design is a bit different. First thing I noticed was the guide at the mouth of the unit where the rod enters to hit the plunger. It was not present on the other unit, for whatever reason. Hopefully it is a quick fix tomorrow morning. Would be nice.   At least the weekend has landed, heat predicted so be careful out there. . |

So the first job back home tonight was to cut the new MC and grind it to fit around the brake booster mounting foot.  Clevis fitted, clutch pumped and bled….. Car started, 1st and 2nd engaged with the rear in the air. Brakes tested, clutch tested some more, clevis adjusted, still not quite right…. Shortened and found to not be quite right. Called out Mr Grinder….  Refitted. Perfect, gear change smooth……. Till it went PoP ! Dismantled, and rewelded. Refitted, works well, clutch pedal too high…… And POP it went leaving the clutch fixed in a position. Removed the Slave cylinder, and clutch back in position, wheels turning freely etc. And yes, cleaned up, ground back tidy.  So I removed the Slave cylinder completely and will be buying a new one as nickwheeler had suggested in the first place. Lets see what the spares shops have in stock tomorrow. Hanging loose with the Rezin Rockit.  And removed.   So clutching at straws. While I have other stuff to deal with. Friday night . Drink?? |

You might need a stop on the clutch pedal as well as the throttle. The clutch slave cylinder doesn't need to move very far. And it's very easy to push both too far and do some damage. as for shortening the pushrod, you do like doing things the hard way  |

And yes, my bad, but it seemed the right solution at the time, and felt like it once re-installed. Still, I would have preferred not to have done it. Replacement Slave ordered. £13.90 and two day delivery. |

fit the clutch hose to the slave cylinder first, bolt it to the gearbox, then attach the swivel fitting to the master cylinder.

A small hint to save you some frustration: fit the clutch hose to the slave cylinder first, bolt it to the gearbox, then attach the swivel fitting to the master cylinder. Agreed, I actually did everything in reverse and it worked beautifully. Done. |
