Not sure how I've missed this thread up till now! Loving it. My Dad had a Panasonic branded version sometime around the late 80's and I remember him lugging the churffing thing round Disneyland I will have to go to my mums place and see if she has any of the old tapes lying around somewhere. Unfortunately the camcorder was donated to a local schools media department many years ago when he upgraded to a Sony Video 8 IIRC there are 2 quick recording buttons. Both operated on the cluster where your right hand goes, one would be operated by your thumb, but another on top you could press with your little finger?

It's been great fun using this over the summer. I still have some footage I need to bounce down from the VHS come to think of it. There are 2 recording buttons on this model, it just seems like the thumb one by the grip/strap doesnt work. Bit of a shame really. I could probably harvest it from the other camera but after splitting that camera in two I found it was really hard to get back together. I may try taking the capstan out out of it though and see if it provides better transport for the tape. The last time I used it I noticed the recordings we're degrading slightly and the head cleaner wasnt fixing it.
