Well update on the 346 saga , tried taking the starter out , and levering the ring gear .not a chance of movement ....tried dragging the compressor up the garden , put some 30 wt oil in the cylinder with closed valves , and whopped 120 psi into it , no leakage ,but also no movement , tried the crank nut and the ring gear method with the pressure on the cylinder , no vestige of a tiny chance of any movement ...looks to me like it is head off time .pox .
Ironically , apparently the old chap that had the car bought a head set , so its probably sitting in his shed forgotten . any one know how much a head gasket costs for one of these .?
Oh , last little jem was , i was looking at the rocker box thinking " oh look someone has snapped off one of the studs that hold it down " ,then realised they had ,to fix this ,blobbed two drops of weld on the edge to weld the rocker box to the head ...nice .
oh , one last last thing , 6 cylinders ..... FOUR INLETS ! poxy designer decided to bring the distributor up high , so its inline with a port , so he made a cast in tube across the cylinders , then put a 4 branch inlet manifold bolted onto the tube ..oh you could not write this stuff.

Calming it down a lot, I've added a fastback behind the existing bodywork so there'd be minimal disruption to the door shuts etc. It's all gone a bit Renault 6 though.

Very brave and brilliant left field project - I doff my cap. Loving horrido 's photochops - they'd work well. But if modifying the roof line could be tricky - just alter the rest of the car to bring the roof into proportion. Four wheel steer from the League of Extraordinary Gentlemen should do it nicely. You might want to skip the detailing from the movie car though.

That could start a new genre-Nemo style, at least the captains hat would be appropriate

That's starting to look like a factory concept for a Mk II Hurricane. I really like that, but much work!
I have no photoshop skills, but maybe some-one can take this into another rabbit hole by keeping the high roof line but adding a Landaulet rear?
Edit: I've just noticed the re-aligned rear lights as well! Most excellent touch!

Coupe is just perfect...but i am suprised that someone more tech savvy than i (not diffucult) hasn't offered a chopped fastback photoshop , i think it could really work!

I thought id have a go at keeping it 4dr, loosing the rear window, reprofiling the roof and rear pillar, doing the 2tone and slamming it. It hasn't come out as well as my idea thought it would, but you can have it anyway.
