Currently driving a 1972 BMW 1602 as my daily. Don't ask about previous cars - there have been way too many and I stopped counting at 160!

I almost had this issue. I was going to rent a local council lock-up, and try to stick my Lexus LS400 in it. Once I figured out where they were, I walked round to take a look, with my tape measure. The Lexus is 5 metres long. The OUTSIDE length of the garage block is... 5 metres. Ah, yes, that won't work then. Idea shelved.
I'm about to move house to rent a new build property which has a garage. By my estimation, the internal length of the garage is 5.7m. I hope I'm right...

 I nearly bought a P100 like this in my younger days, but it was two or three inches too long for my council garage. I even considered a "bubble-arched" garage door, or leaving it left partly open (still locked) but car crime was bad where we lived, so bought a MK2 XR2 instead |

When I started thinking about getting an American motor, me and the wife would walk alongside cars at shows taking tic tacks or is it tin tacks ? (Toe to heel, toe to heel), working out what should fit and what wouldn't, I think we just got away with it.   |
