For Sale
1990 Wartburg 1.3
MOT Sept 26th 2020
4 Speed manual
V5 present
Radio Cassette
Hi all, for sale is my 1990 Wartburg with the licensed built VW 1.3 4-cylinder petrol engine, I’ve literally only owned the car since last month but a huge change in circumstances and possibly losing my storage soon for this means it’s up for sale, I just won’t have the room.
As you can see in the pics is in very good condition, has to be one of the best in the UK at the moment, it’s really solid and straight with very few minor paint imperfections. The interior is in great condition. The car has it’s original jack and spare wheel. The engine runs really well, and taking into consideration of the model and era etc it’s a very nice, fun car to drive. It passed its last MOT without any problems, no advisories and has only done about 1000km since. The odo reads 14k km, on the MOT it shows 130k which is wrong, the odo clicks over at 99,999km… so I think the last MOT should have read 13k km.
Unfortunately, the clutch has started to slip in 4th if you try to give it the beans from lower in the rev range, however if you drive normal it seems fine and it only slips very minor. Due to this and the loss of being able to store in anywhere soon I have to do the sensible thing and let it go.
Also the car didn’t come with any history when I bought it.
This is an honest car and an honest sale, if my circumstances were different I wouldn’t be selling and if they somehow manage to change I will end up keeping it. You are more than welcome to come take a look and drive it, it’s still MOT’d, Taxed and insured, so if you are covered to drive other cars on your policy also, you’re more than welcome to a test drive. Speaking of insurance it’s very cheap through Footman James and the tax is the lower bracket.
Price is £1700, this is well worth the money. I paid 2100 last month so I will be losing quite a bit on this, obviously I understand it will need the clutch sorting, it might need adjusting or a new clutch – I don’t have time to investigate at the moment. I would advise to have it transported if it is going a long distance due to the clutch, when I bought it I used shiply.com to get quotes and arrange transport to me.
Please no time wasters or tyre kickers, the car is what it is and I’m sure the new owner will be very pleased. If you have any questions please ask.
Car located in Barnsley s75 just off the M1.
Thanks Tom
