I've had a search and found loads of pictures of folks using their own car at their wedding, or for family - but nothing I could see about hiring it out.
Anyone on here rent their classic out for weddings? Seems like it could be a good way to top up the parts fund! My insurer covers it for not a lot, as long as I drive.
All thoughts/suggestions welcomed, I'm sure I've missed something!

I did it a few times back when I owned my 56. Was always for people I knew and was done as a favour rather than for profit. Pretty sure there are some rules around insurance etc if you take cash in exchange. Always enjoyed it, and ended up with a lot of pictures for my collection, just check the legislation. P.

The average wedding spend last year was £32K, if your old Merc / Jag / Rolls / whatever decided it was going to choose that day to break down and ruined someone's big day you could potentially find yourself on the messy end of a hefty claim. Obviously COVID is a consideration now, I know a lot of taxi drivers who have stopped driving because of proximity to passenger concerns balanced out by the local authority refusing to allow plexiglass division to be retro-fitted. If you've got an old limo with glass division you're laughing!

I rented Ford 150... Don't ask me why, it's a long story. Although, an old limo will look awesome. I've never been against retro cars.

It was the insurance I found when I was looking, and none were drive it yourself affairs. Got pretty costly as they charge for every mile covered (including to and from their place of residence) and for waiting, plus deposit, fuel etc. I wound up just using my car, like I jokingly said I would when we first got engaged. Got some epic pictures and memories with it now.

Yeah, spoke to insurer and it's all fine as long as I drive - charging or not. Weddings only.

The car I'm planning to use is a 1990 Nissan Pao, which has been swapped to a later Micra engine with fuel injection to help keep reliability up. I totally take your point on board - much of my thinking is that knowing it's booked for hire will make sure those "one day" jobs all get sorted properly. Covid is a consideration of course - I'm not expecting anything to kick off with this until next Spring realistically.
