Anyone else working from home sitting at their dining room on a seriously uncomfortable dining room chair? I went looking for a decent office chair. You know those cool ones that looking like a car seat, they are sooooo expensive. So queue eBay searches and eventually found a reasonably priced, leather Jaguar XF seat. It’s beautiful. I’m going put it on a swivel base. However it’s got all these electronic controls so I wanted to see if they work. So I can decline etc etc I googled a wiring diagram but it may as well be in another language www.jaguarforums.com/forum/xf-xfr-x250-44/2011-xf-drivers-seat-module-wiring-diagram-187912/I just need to figure out how to get power to it

I can confirm that a XF seat is one of the most comfortable things you can sit on. I regularly drive across Europe in mine. Also I have a seat at work that’s out of an old SAAB 99 and that’s really comfortable. In fact so comfortable I sometimes fall asleep in it on my dinner break.

Today’s plan is to use a drill battery and connect it to the motor to see if there’s any life in there.
It needs to recline slightly before I can sit in it for work. Long term plan is to try and connect it to a power source to use for movement of the seat and maybe heat when the temperature drops
Although I could be back in the office by then. But who cares. It’s a jaaaaaag

I looked for a Saab 9000 seat as they are apparently the comfiest seat ever produced but unfortunately it wasn’t to be

So I took a drill battery and tried all the motors on the seat. Hazaar! They are all work.
The complicated bit will be getting it to work via the controls on the panel

Why not wire it to a 12V PC supply?
Depends on how much the stuff in the seat will need to draw, but nice and easy fix, cheap too if you have a dead PC knocking around!
I have an MG ZS 180 seat in my home office which was surplus when it became a track car! I attached a 5mm steel plate to an old chair base and fixed the seat to this. Its quite comfy given the amount of time I've had to sit at the computer recently!

This is the million dollar question. There’s a huge variety of plugs and wiring underneath. If I do get a low voltage laptop power supply. Which holes do I jam the power into?
