Today, I got fed up with my flashlight. It kept switching itself off (batteries are not dead), usually with a gentle knock as I was working near it.
The offending article is this- in principle a good device. Big lens, not big, zoomable to a distance, waterproof, several modes of operation (bright, dim, blink, S-O-S morse flash), magnetic base.
My problem with it is the quality of construction. The zoomable bit lets water in, knock it at just the right angle and it shuts off, the switch is on the base, which is also the magnetic bit so when it turns off you have to detach it from the surface to depress the button again. Too many modes- on and off would be perfect. Wider beam on widest setting would be good. Magnetic base is not *quite* strong enough to hold it in place up under the dash.
Suggest me a flashlight!
Requisites are:
No longer than 3 AA batteries end to end
Magnetic
Wide angle illumination
The brighter the better
It gets used in the garage which is dirty and dusty- either can be taken apart to fix it doesn't let curse word and moisture/humidity (the main problem) in.
What you've got that beats this?
Phil
