Unfortunately, Transit’s are so easy to steal.
I lost the keys for my old mk7 transit a few years ago. Locksmith was in the van and had it started in less than 5 mins making no noise whatsoever in the process.
Think they can now do the same with the newer vans unfortunately. Hence parking my car behind my Transit Custom every night.

The camper transit's all looked like normal vans. Having seen CCTV of this gang/gangs. It takes them less than 90 seconds to get in and drive off - without the key! Turbopick and some kind of odb defeat.
Has to be a mass organised export/chop shop ring going on.
Either last year or year before, a gang took every car off 2 used car pitches in the middle of the night. Thats 20+ cars from each one!

I knew about some OBDII defeat tools that they use. There are kits on the market to put a lock over the OBDII port, or change the permanent 12v to switched with a hidden switch. There are even OBDII relocation kits available.
I imagine anything that takes them longer than that 90 seconds, would make them walk away.

This looks like same ones that took mates van, his footage isnt on YT

Those 2 campers that were stolen, one had been found in Killamarsh, the owners found another stolen van at Halfway. Might give you an idea of where they are going. Easy to dump them in that area to see if they have a tracker and get the tram back into Sheffield.

The camper conversion has been ripped out, made a right mess. Does seem like they are staying close to the tram route!

I used to live near the Killamarsh/Rother Valley area and there was a spate of car radio thefts in the area 15-20 years ago. Every week several cars would be targeted and the locals started spotting things and saw it was a gang, not individuals, so was properly organized . To be fair the police got involved, but would you believe this gang wasn't local but driving all the way up from North London.
This may be a gang from else where who know the area, and using the tram and things for travelling. Risky though as the tram has CCTV.
