There was a few small ice cream vans around when I was growing up I think it was either an acty or mini van that had a huge fibre glass face thing on the back of it
Talk about the stuff nightmares are made of

Our local one.
Edit: meant to say 'our famous local one'.
Haven't been to Tenby this season, so I don't know if it's still active.
Don't recall seeing this one

I love an old or odd ice cream van. A personal favourite for its quaintness Got a round in the mountains? This is amazing. Id expect a proper bespoke luxury ice-cream from this one. The paint on this looks amazing I wouldn't expect much from this one.

I remember buying from those old J Types. Does that date me?
Wish I had a photograph of the converted prewar bus at Alnmouth Northumberland.
I assume the second one is on an Austin Princess chassis - which begs the question anyone seen one on a Rolls Royce chassis?

There’s a guy on the broads not far from me with an ice cream boat, apparently he’s been selling there for 25 years!

You know me too well I’ve seen ice cream van actys pop up on eBay before, best one having a massive Uncle Sam head in fibreglass on the rear end. Sooty was an Acty driver not rascal I’ll have you know! I’ll see if I can find pics to backup aforementioned, plus also mister cartoon’s ice cream van... Edit to add... www.superfly-autos.com/features/mister-cartoons-lowrider-ice-cream-van/ That uncle Sam one is amazing, I'd rock that if I didn't value my marriage.

That uncle Sam one is amazing, I'd rock that if I didn't value my marriage. I’d be interested in seeing how well the 545cc engine drags the extra weight of a fully loaded freezer and a massive fibreglass head before putting my marriage on the line in buying one!

Not the best pic but this is a very rare coach built ice cream van based on a Jowett Bradford Van - and there is one due into my workshop next year for a restoration

I remember seeing a Range Rover 6 wheeler ice cream van in the beach car park when I was a kid back in the 80’s. Is this the same one? I thought it would have rotted away by now.

When I was a kid (back in the days when the postman drove a Minor van), we had one of these coming to our housing estate in the summer, it was red & white and sold Lyons Maid though.

Ice cream truck from Cheech and Chong, Nice Dreams. Wouldn't work in our climate though! Is it just me, or does the head on that look enough to send the kids running away screaming? Looks like the child catcher off chitty chitty bang bang !😱

which begs the question anyone seen one on a Rolls Royce chassis? This one is usually parked by the Italian Gardens in Hyde Park. Built by Whitby Morrison in 2014. It's also shown it's face at Goodwood Revival
