Okay I know you probably hate it already, but give it a little bit of time to bed in and let me do some more of the tweaks I have planned for it. I 100% guarantee it will be a better overall experience than the previous version of this theme.
Constructive observations gratefully received. Particularly if they have browser, device and/or screen size with them (screen shots also gratefully received).
If you are feeling adventurous on mobile the "desktop" view is now much more mobile friendly, and ultimately I plan to make it the main/only way to view on mobile (little way to go yet with that).

I just had a little try out of the desktop view on mobile, it works OK but everything is rather small as you'd expect. I've never really had any issues with the mobile version in Firefox but I use a laptop for most of my RR interaction.
While you're shuffling sections around I'll take this opportunity to point out that the Question Section seems to be getting a lot more technical questions these days. I know originally it was created as a repository for the lower quality content that clogged up the main board but it seems to have developed a bit of an identity crisis lately! I think the whole first page is techie questions.

I know originally it was created as a repository for the lower quality content that clogged up the main board but it seems to have developed a bit of an identity crisis lately! I think the whole first page is techie questions. That is definitely on the list of things to sort out, originally as you say it was because general was getting deluged with "what car should I buy?" type questions, which were okay in a limited number, but they were overwhelming the general board. I read an interesting piece a little while ago about structure and content on forums which said you should never have a "general" section, your forum is about something and that should be its label. Which I broadly agree with, which got me thinking about what sections we have and what I can merge and what needs to be created. I'm turning my eye to the "Dream" section of the forum soon, likely Videos will get merged in to "General", which will likely be renamed to "Retro Car Stuff" or something (MUCH) better. Question section then needs a bit of a rename to be kind of "non-technical questions", but again worded slightly better haha. Naming is hard! It could also do with some more active moderation too, just moving stuff about. I'm also trying not to make ghettos of information, which is hard when you have a reasonably sized active forum that needs to be split down a bit some times.

Had a quick look and desktop on mobile still means a lot of zooming and scrolling. Mobile version still my preference.

Had a quick look and desktop on mobile still means a lot of zooming and scrolling. Mobile version still my preference. Me too at the moment, I'm going to keep working at it though. I thought at one point it would be impossible to replicate what the mobile version of this site does (which I don't have access to tweak the theme on, so I can't add in the upload image stuff), but I've been getting closer over the last couple of weeks, although it is still a reasonable way off.

I'm probably guilty of posting stuff I shouldn't in the question section. I interpreted the description of the technical forum to be for mechanical help and anything which could go across different cars types should go into the question forum.

For me, I use mobile on my phone, unless I need to post a pic. Then, I dip into desktop mode (not tried the new version) post the pic and back to mobile. Desktop takes a bit more concentration on a mobile, but was an acceptable solution for me

I have found several forums that have a truly bewildering array of categories rather than a general one..personally i prefer the latter sollution.
