I've had this the best part of a month and I'm just not gelling with it. Its possibly too nice for me or too sensible, but whatever it is, it's just not tickling my pickle.
I know I haven't had it long, but I've since serviced it, changed the cam belt along with its tensioner and idlers and put it through an MOT which needed a tiny piece of welding which I've done - with picture evidence to show I've actually made a good job of it - I'm not just getting rid because its broken, it really isn't and I'd and really would like this car to live a long life after me. If you have an offer then let me know. Available for £600
It's located in Tiverton, Devon - I can pick you up from the train or bus station and it's just off Junction 27 of the M5.
GOOD POINTS
Low milage, It's just about to hit 53,000 miles.
MOT 29th May 2021 and it's a completely clean MOT with no advisories.
Cam belt done 100 miles ago
Fresh oil and filter
Very recent coolant
New Aux belt
Engine and gearbox are sweet as, smooth, still feels like it has its full 120hp. It's the F4P engine, which seems to be extremely similar as the F4R engine in the Clio Sport 172/182 which could be an exciting engine swap.
Proper pukka Bridgestone Turanza hoops on each of the wheels, and the alloys themselves are in excellent condition.
Air conditioning is nice and cold
It has fully functioning front electric windows and CD and radio with steering wheel controls.
Boot is huge
Front fog lamps so you have blend in with idiots in Qashqais
Spacious enough for four adults
Full sized spare wheel, unused
Some history, but nothing to write home about
BAD POINTS
The lacquer on the bonnet is burnt so looks a little sad
There is a couple of rips in the drivers seat (although I intend on trying to sew these up soon, will update if this actually transpires)
A few small giffer scuffs, including one on the rear bumper where it has clearly been reversed into a wall or back of the garage repeatedly at very low speed.
The vinyl is peeling a bit on the tops of the door cars
The original bonnet pull doesn't work but there is a after market one under the glovebox which does work.
POINTS THAT MIGHT BE GOOD OR BAD
Once of the very last, registered in July 2000
It's a 20 year old Renault, it's survived this long, has low milage and doesn't feel at all worn out to drive. It feels like it'll keep going, but it is a 20 year old Renault.
It's not perfect by any stretch of the imagination, but it is a very good example
