That drinks holder looks good, wouldn't mind one of those for my Fiesta. Is that a genuine ford accessory?

Small point, I noticed the Clarke Ford logo on the plates and rear window. I worked there in the early 90's as a young 'un. One of my duties was making the number plates for sold cars, so this could have been one of mine lol. They are definitely the original ones.
The dealerships not there any more, just their bodyshop round the corner called Trust Ford.

It was registered in August 1991, so there is a there chance you made those plates. And if you fitted them to the car, then I would suggest that you were the last person to do so. You are the only person who has mentioned anything about the dealership. I did gather they have gone. Could you supply any information about the dealership? Very long shot, but would have or know anyone that has dealership memorabilia. Like tax holders, key rings, service books holders etc.

Thank you. I wasn’t sure if it was going to work or not, but it certainly has made a difference

I was still there in August 91, left sometime in 93 I think
Cant help with any memorabilia sorry, not in touch with anyone from there anymore. It was ran by two brothers, who kept taking money from the company, never spent anything on the buildings, and basically ran it into the ground, until Ford made them sell it to a bigger company with more than one dealership.
This was when mk4 Escorts were still new in the showroom, they would buy in non genuine headlights in quantities of 40 or 50 at a time, and sell them as genuine. All the bodyshops would send them back, and just go to the next main dealer, Bristol used to have at least 3 with smaller ones outlying, another reason they went belly up.

Lovely Car! is this 1.1 the OHV Valencia engine? if so the same as in my 1985 Mk3 Escort which is still on points! is this electronic ignition? would like to find a electronic distributor for mine at some point.
Also, great info on the Ford dealer above! I found that my Escort was sold through a smaller garage on here (if you look up Market Deeping Southern Cross Garages ). I didnt realise that small business could sell brand new Cars, I thought they would always be direct from Ford. Interesting about the headlight scam!! I bet so much of that stuff went on.

What a little time machine. Another one of those cars that were ubiquitous, everywhere you looked and then seemingly overnight, weren't. I wasn't really a fan of these at the time but I've not seen one in that condition for a years and it's lovely to see.

I had the RS Accessory kit on mine very briefly, and I feel terrible for whatever happened to it. Probably got burnt or binned. Had the RS BBS wheels too, but back then they were a bit ugly and small so likely got scrapped too.
