Now then, long time lurker on here. That's mainly because all my old bangers have gone and currently driving more modern post 2000s cars.
As you do you scroll through what's available and the prices of cars over in South Africa are quite tempting , old fords especially. The urge to find a MK2 escort 4 door in midnight blue is strong but I regret not picking one up back in 2014/2015 prices.
Anyone had any experience or recommend anyone to import a car from SA to the UK?

Mate of mine bout a Citroen DS a few years ago. Probably as easy as getting a car from the states. Just make sure you have a proper ID/ reg document

Do your homework and make the relevant checks. Coming from S.A isn't some magical rust free guarantee. A few years back we had a guy bring a split screen camper in just imported from S.A. he paid around £5k for it plus shipping taxes etc. It was rotten to the core.

South Africa doesn’t grit their roads. South Africa is a huge country compared to Blighty surrounded by rough seas on 3/4 of its borders. If you buy a coastal car it will be a rust bucket. If you buy a car from the highveld or the lowveld potentially it could have lived 500miles away from the coast. So, can be a very mixed bag....
