I'm currently having an end of project \ change of direction clear out of some of the stuff I've accumulated over the years - there'll be a fair bit to go, but the first is the large and bulky stuff! All large items need to be collected or a courier arranged - I'm about 5 minutes from J19 (Gordano) of the M5.
First up is a SAAB B207E engine with 90k miles on it. For those who don't know, these are GM 1st Generation Ecotec engines, and as far as I know are identical to the Z20NET. Although not up to the legendary specifications of the previous B204/B234 engines, they're a lot lighter (all ally) and can still manage about 250bhp (for the E/L versions) to 300bhp (for the R version) with the right turbo before the internals need to be upgraded.
I bought this example from a breakers, squirted some oil down the bores and occasionally turned it but otherwise I never got around to using it and it's been sitting under covers in my garage for the last year. Don't need it now as I'm planning on sticking with the MX5 engine already in the Dolomite. £100 collected.
Next up is the reason I bought the B207E engine - most of the parts of a brand new B207R engine. I bought the complete engine from someone who unfortunately thought that careful storage was outside under a tarp, luckily it was brand new and the build oil has saved everything but the block and the piston rings. I stripped it all down, cleaned it, oiled it and have stored all the smaller components in airtight boxes with dessicant. The head is actually off a 2008 SAAB Aero which suffered the dreaded valve problem, but I had it rebuilt with new valves and valve stems and lightly skimmed. £300, or £350 with the B207E engine.
If you're after individual parts please feel free to PM me.
2009 RX8 gearbox - not sure about the mileage on this one but it wouldn't have been high for me to have bought it. It's had the bellhousing skimmed 15mm to accept an adapter plate, the work being done by a colleague who had a large milling machine. £125.
RX8 Gearbox / B204/B234 adapter plate - the same kind you see on ebay and facebook. I was (mis)informed that the bolt pattern of the B207 was the same as the B204 - it is not, though some holes do align. £80 - this could be posted, for cost of postage.
Mk3 / NC MX5 gearbox (6 speed) - I bought this as a placeholder, as the guy I got it from claimed it wouldn't select gears. I've not had it behind an engine, so can't make any promises, but it seems to select sweetly enough and spins over freely by hand in all gears. £50. - Gone
Finally, and I honestly have no recollection why I bought this, I have an M20 solid flywheel and clutch. I think it was to mount on an M50\M52 to replace the DMF. £100.
Any questions please feel free to ask!
