I'll keep a short story long.
I've been playing with the Herald since the lockdown - I think I'm at the end of week seven now. This week I finished adding the light bar and an addition fan working off a thermal switch in the engine bay. You may remember I asked for battery advice recently and as the car has done less than 10 miles in those seven weeks the battery has died a few times. This morning I chose to chase down any potential parasitic drains. Cue finding a blown fuse which kept blowing and causing odd problems. Then the engine died big time. Coincidence? Perhaps. Paranoia... Most definitely.
A bit of fiddling and I've traced it down to the fuel pump relay. I've shorted out the pump, faffed with before and after wires and now stripped the relay apart and seen that either the capacitor has either popped or a mouse has been making a tiny cocaine cache.
And now the short bit of the story. I can't find a replacement capacitor. The spec on it says 25v 130uF but I can only find 250v 130uF. I'm obviously not clued up on electronics so no idea if that's suitable.
Any help? I can get a new relay, but I like tinkering and replacing the capacitor seems more interesting.
