as above any of you ford guys identify this axle ime thinking an atlas but there are a few different types i beleive such as Kolne english ect ive not had anything much to do with them anyone confirm

Looks like a Ford Atlas Axle off a Capri . I had mine out recently and it looks close . Has it got a black plate with nuts all around it on the diff ?

Looks like an Atlas, if IIRC the Kolne has a sort of 50p shaped cover.
The English diff loads in from the front.
As mentioned, probably a Capri, looks too wide for an Escort.

If it's 52 inches it's a Mk2/3 capri atlas, Cortina Kolns were 54 inches and Escort 48 inches, Kolns where never fitted to capris.

Heres a Photo of mine out the Car. Looks very similar, drain plug in the same place and the axle mounts in the same place.  |

I think Burton Power Products had a guide on how to tell in their catalogue, it might be online as well?
ETA Are they even still going?

I should know as I just went through taking this for a rebuild but I think mine is a 3.74 being a 2.0 and the v6 models had a 3.09 Diff. There should be a little tag on the back plate telling you.
