Hi all,
For a number of reasons (most of them centring around the fact I'm a sad curse word), I have taken on the challenge of creating a register for the Citroen BX. It's backed up by the Citroen Car Club (so it's not a weird personal information gathering session for me!)
In terms of details, I'm going into geek overload. I love a spreadsheet, and can therefore tell you that the average number of days that passed between a BX being built at the factory in Rennes, and the day it was registered in the UK, is 150 (though that does include a car that sat around for four years, between 1992 and 1996 doing sweet FA, but given the number of cars I've got, I'm opting to leave it in). So yeah, you can see how tragic this has already become!
I'm wondering if any of you good folk have any records of any BX you've had/done unspeakable things on/in/around/to. I can search by registration or VIN as a minimum.
So yeah, complete no strings attached request for your BX memories/knowledge/history etc....basically anything you can bestow upon me!
Many thanks

My first thought was you need to get in touch with a guy called Richard Kitchen then i looked at the location and the user name Gab on the AXOC has recently acquired a BX GTi i'll direct him your way

I had a BX for about a year 99-2000,looks like it’s not been on road since 2003 though so likely scrapped. F139SDD,1.4 petrol in ‘off’ white. I needed a cheap runabout and it came into the dealer (ford) I worked at as a trade in,I had a choice of that,or a mk1 Orion, both £150.Though the Ford would be the obvious choice, the BX was immaculate, unfortunately it was on HPI as a write off,it had been damaged on a rear door, but the owner loved it that much she had it repaired and kept it... I drove it with no attention whatsoever, only issue I had was front suspension spheres failed and suspension locked up solid (interesting drive with only the give in the tyres for suspension). I ran it for a year, and sold it for what I paid for it thereabouts. It was probly the comfiest car I’ve ever had,and the heater used to warm up so quick you’d think the head gasket had gone 😂

I had a BX16TRS 1986 and a BX19TRS 1989, the last of which I got rid of in about 1996. I wish I could remember the plates of them both but they've long since gone into the vortex of my brain. Good luck with your database, sounds good. I'd love to drive a BX GTi 16v as always thought those looked the biz with their bodykit. In fact, lets have one on this thread ;->

Good luck with your quest. Never owned one but used to get to drive my boss' mrs' diesel estate (couldnt tell you what model) and it was a blast. Went like the clappers and rode and handled like a magic carpet. Never felt the need to own one but it certainly left an impression on me. I always remained slightly miffed that i was never allowed to drive the bosses space shuttle...sorry...XM!!

Same time I had mine, one of our drivers had a G plate turbo diesel (TZD ?) nicer trim inside, slightly better spec I think. He had nothing but trouble with it.......
Sometime earlier than that, not sure what year but pre ‘99, We looked after a D plate diesel, all I can remember about that was when door pillar rotted and hinges failed......

Definitely responsible for a couple(Black 1.9 Gti and a Silver 14RE model), but sadly no record of the respective registrations, think the 14RE got sold on but the GTi got scrapped. Quirky but very practical motors.

I had one as a company car probably '88, Meteor Grey GTi 16v (phase 1), great car did some good trips in it Scotland, Holland, Frankfurt, Brittany, and Paris (including a bit of the Périphérique). Registration was F???LTF can only find one (bad) photo of it. One of the best cars I've had.

F139 SDD isn't in the register yet, so even if it is indeed dead (likely), its memory will live on! 😂

I had one similar for a while, but sadly it was spectacularly K.I.A. a year or two ago when a Volvo decided to do silly things in front of it. Guy was fine, though. I don't have an F*** LTF, but I do have a Meteor Grey F966 EGF?

I don't have an F*** LTF, but I do have a Meteor Grey F966 EGF? Pretty certain it was LTF, came from near Reading, Burnham. (which is right for a TF registration).

I've got one at the moment - J953 LLN - a 1991 TZD Turbo diesel in black. The V5C has me as the 6th owner which isn't bad for a 30 year old snotter! I think it must have been owned by an enthusiast/caring old boy at some point as it is low mileage (84500 ish today) and hasn't properly rusted out like they seem to although did need some repairs. I google image searched the reg and there is a picture of it looking very tidy and on original wheels at a car show. When I picked it up last August it was without MOT and had been a little neglected and also subjected to some poorly executed barry boy style mods, I think to make it look like a GTi. This is it at the moment: It is still a little rough round the edges but it is on the road, taxed and MOT tested and is currently my daily driver until I get bored and need another Jag in my life. I've got a thread on here about my times with it so far and if you want any more information for your register just send me a message. Cheers.

I've got that one already, possibly from another forum somewhere. Looks like you're looking after it though.

Mine's K723 KGF. Lowly 1.9 non-turbo diesel TXD. Rescued from a field in 2015, driven for ages with minimal fuss until a snapped clutch cable has laid it up recently. Currently awaiting its turn for some mechanical attention Here it is looking majestic in the Brecon Beacons when I lent it to a mate during a big road trip out there. Me on the same trip well into the bonnet of the thing fixing an LHM leak from a return from one of the struts Back when I'd first fixed it up

Not sure, but a vague memory tells me I drove one of these as a rental car in the early 90’s. Is this the car that has that wierd arrangement that the indicator switch is kinda built into the dashboard? If so,it was a very comfortable barge to drive 🤣🤣
