Morning All,
Bit of a strange one, just seeing if anyone has done this recently or know of anyone who has before I try phoning the centre and ask.
A long way off yet, but the project I'm building is going to be a road legal car but with a fairly serious roll cage etc. for some track visits and maybe sprints/hillclimbs and the like.
I'm putting the steering in a great place for driving position but in order to get in (and particularly out!) of the car it would be a massive help to have a removable steering boss. It would be a very high quality boss and I would be retaining both collapsible upper and lower column sections and some sort of padded wheel. I guess it may come down to an 'e-marking' issue.
A google search doesn't turn up anything recent and offers only a number of fairly unhelpful responses on some kit car forum threads where the advise is to 'just fit a fixed sierra wheel mate and change it after the test' - it would be pretty hard to argue that you intended to live with struggling to get out of a car to that extent!
Cheers for any thoughts or help provided!
Jason
