I've the same one I bought to use for the underside of my celica, can't remember what page it was on, but I've found it really useful in that regard. Can't remember what material I bought at the time either but will check.

Can't remember what material I bought at the time either but will check. Cheers so it’s not a too bad kit. I’ve got a small air compressor but I’ve got two so might try and double up the pressure. Hopefully clean up the wheels ok.

Nah total waste of money. At the very least get a cabinet so the grit doesn't go everywhere and you can reuse it.
If you need to do stuff bigger than a cabinet the chinese pressure pot style is the one to go for 'on a budget'. They are still a million miles away from the proper kit in terms of filling them with grit and their wear resistance but they are also going to be a million miles away from one of these on the actual blasting efficiency..
Also don't forget you need a big compressor to blast. Normal garage style piston compressors wont cut it.
If your using a cabinet id recommend aluminum oxide grit as it can be reused many times, if your using it outside and are going to loose a lot of the grit your better off with cheap ground glass media otherwise it will cost a fortune..

I appreciate what you are attempting to achieve - However its a very messy task without a cabinet or undertaken in specifically confined / tented area or in a remote outside area - virtually pointless unless you have decent compressor that can deliver 20 cfm (cubic foot per minute) - have some thought about just gathering everything that you want blasting together and take it to a specialist blaster - they will be able to turn it around for you in a realistic time - without the mess & faff and for a reasonable price - I restore cars professionally and I simply don't bother with blasting in the workshop - I out source it all on a very cost effective basis - There are other options of de rusting that you may want to look into though - Citric acid / Electrolysis along with several other methods that all offer cost effective solutions and can be undertaken in a home based workshop

Another option if you don't have a blasting cabinet is to blast inside a large plastic bag. I needed to clean up the corner of a door on my last project, and that worked quite well for me - a mate had bought a hardtop that came in a big plastic bag, so I stuck the door in it and aimed everything away from the opening and put some clips on it to keep most of it closed. Lost a bit of grit, but not much. And some blasting on the bodyshell was done with another big plastic bag, cut open at both ends, taped around the work area and gathered together around my arms and the blast gun.
Mine's a gun that picks up via a pipe into a bucket of media. It's really good at clogging the pipe up just as it looks like progress is being made. But it was £3 on a car boot sale, so worth a go.

I’ve ordered it now. Maybe I’ll just send it back. Or try and cancel it Tomorrow.
Was hoping to just clean up some wheels mainly.

I was looking for the same thing. Who can suggest a budget based cabinet? I do have an air compressor mind you .

I was looking for the same thing. Who can suggest a budget based cabinet? I do have an air compressor mind you . Some people build a cabinet out of plywood with a perspex window in the top. I have just been given a shop style chest freezer. Big enough to put two 18” wheels in. Going to cut two holes in for gloves to fit and maybe put a light in. Not sure about dust extraction yet, will see if it works first.

CJ Autos carry a decent budget range - then there are a load of faceless dealers on the bay etc whom are more or less offering the same thing for about the same money cjautosheywood.co.uk/product-category/sandblasters/

I have one of the cheap Chinese pressure pot type things, it takes a bit of phaffing around but with a fine grit it can be made to work fairly well, so effective in fact that it blasted straight through the control valve( a cheap thin brass one which i replaced with a heavy steel one)
I made a simple folding cabinet using a 1 ton builders bag.

All of our blast cleaning gear came from here blastclean.info/on a price:quality ratio you can't beat them and the owner is very helpful with technical issues and solving problems. The cheap blasting kits use cheap internals and nozzles which don't last 5 minutes. It's not cheap/easy to get the best results though. We have a HPC 560CFM compressor and refrigerant dryer with serious air line and moisture trap set ups and a purpose-built extracted blast room. I did DIY blasting before with my old 60CFM compressor and even that wasn't plain sailing. Not bad in the cabinet, but struggled to run a decent pot blaster with decent-sized nozzle and it's a very messy business.

Was hoping to just clean up some wheels mainly. I know what you mean, I much prefer getting stuff so I can do these things myself. And I also find that once I've bought the gear, I resist doing things the "quick" way even if that might sometimes be a better idea. I was going to buy one of those cheap blasting pots, but I'd read about the various issues with them, upgrades needed, size of compressor needed, and gave up.

I like to try to have stuff around that might not be the best but atleast can take your time and do yourself. Just spent 25 mins on hold to demon tweeks. For them to say it’s already been sent out, I either need to refuse it when it gets to my house or if I miss the driver and they deliver it. I can return it after the lockdown is over which will be months probably.
