I love a good van and I love a well turned out VW Type 2 or Chevy Van as much as the next person, but I do love some of the alternative options, from the (apparently dire) Alfa Romeo Romeo Furgone to delivery van converted estates. These popped up on car and classic and caught my eye today : Mercedes (not seen one before) www.carandclassic.co.uk/car/C1071754 Lancia (so much potential) www.carandclassic.co.uk/car/C1115269 And most of this Volvo, which to be fair I've been loving for ages, but seem to come up so rarely in van form www.carandclassic.co.uk/car/C1208812 What you got in the way of alternative vans?

I walk past one of these quite often... Must be even more pointless, and even more impractical than the Mini van. Does it stop me from wanting one? No it does not.

Just incase my Ka van wasn't retro enough, I quite fancy one of these Chevrolet Corvair vans too!

Sticking with small vans, I had a crappy white Corsa Combo van for work once. It looked pretty typical, shabby white paint, a few rust scabs, a few little dings, and rusty steel wheels. Much like this one, pretty unassuming... Had a 1.8 litre fuel injected petrol engien from a Cavalier under the bonnet. That thing went like the devil. I used to load, and tie everything down in the bed for better weight distribution! It handled like a big go-kart!! Would've been better if it looked like this though.. Of course, this would've made it tricky to get all my tool in!

My van aspirations float between the Barkas B1000 and the Avia A-21 (no prizes for guessing why) but mostly the Skoda 1203

This thread is right up my street! 1962 Saab 95 two stroke van, only one left of three built: 1970 Saab 95 V4 van, pretty much my dream car. Less than a handful left of a few dozen built. There was also a version with side windows, which is far more common (well, there are maybe 20 left worldwide I guess). The van pictured below is in pretty poor condition and currently owned by a chap in Scotland who'll hopefully restore it to its former glory. In the meantime I'm (very slowly) building my own 95 van. A little more here.

Probably rarer than both the Lancia & Volvo put together - Lancia still get my vote though

I like my sedan delivery. Not mega common in the states (about 3000 total production iirc) but apparently it’s the only one over here.

That Lancia is lovely! Always liked the Volvo 145 Express. Usually available with full glass as per the regular 145, and sometimes used as ambulances but managed to find a panel van one:

OK, I've shown pics of my Alfa Romeo F12 before... But what about a van version of the Giulia... Does this Capri count as a van? The Harold & Maude E Type. XJS.
