Ok so in the process of slowly restoring an old Demm Smily moped, ill get a thread up at some point i promise! I'm just lazy! In the process of stripping i took the old metal label off of the frame so it can be painted etc, i didnt manage to get it off perfectly, does anyone know of somebody that could replicate this metal label? I'd love to replace it with a shiny brand new one rather than refit the old slightly battered one when it comes time to rebuild. Picture of the label. Picture of the bike for your troubles! I'll do a build thread soon.

Any company that does silkscreening should be able to do that.

Let me know if you get any one I tried to get a trailer plate made for my 1930 trailer, but as its a one off it was very expensive £100+ from memory

It will come in handy even if you never use it

There's a company that turns up to the NEC Classic car show who do replica MG and similar chassis plates, these are basically a flat plate with a screen print, and spaces to stamp numbers. I had their card somewhere but never contacted them as they can't do what I need (raised stamped numbers and letters, not stamped "down" into the plate).

yeh its screen printed. If you can flatten it out and get a decent square on, hi-res photo you can give the image a touch up in photoshop and then print it on acetate and use that to develop a screen. Look up screen printing and how to make a silk screen if you don't know what i mean.
The trailer one is doable in the same way but you would need to do a lot of photoshop work on it i think.

Is there anyone local that does T-shirt printing?
Apparently it's the same technique, just using solvent-based paint:
If you do a slater suggests and create a good photoshop of what you want and supply some plate, might be worth a try?

A mate I work with does carbon fibre VIN tags. I know that's not what you really want but it might be of use to someone here. He flocked the dash and interior on my RX7. It's lush :-) They're very cool. www.facebook.com/AutoflockCheers Alex
