Right so I brought this a good few years ago now. Its a very early 1972, genuine 2000 GT Mk 3 Cortina.
It runs and drives, but does require restoration.
The sills, boot floor, door bottoms, front and rear valances have all rusted out as you would expect with a Mk 3 !
Its a complete example with the sloping dash, twin headlamps and toombstone seats.
The interior is in very good condition, and only requires cleaning, no repairs needed.
This has been on my 'keep list' ever since I brought it, and has been tucked away at the back of the shed.
Although I would still like to hang onto it, I am interested to get a up-to-date idea of the value of it, and am toying with the idea of maybe letting it go......
I did pay strong money for this when I brought it, but knew it was a rare find, and purchased it with my heart rather than head....
I realy don't see many of these coming up for sale any more, well almost never in fact. The year I brought this one, I did see another 2000 GT fully restored come up for sale and it made around the 20 grand mark. A year or so ago I see a 1600 GT come up- in slightly worse a state than mine, with made around the 7 grand mark.
Just trying to gauge a rough idea of the value of mine, both restored and un-restored.
The photos aren't much to go by I know but all I can find at the moment..
Thanks, Matt
