While browsing for something in particular, I came across some resources for free downloadable paper car models.
Some are small and very basic (not much more than a box), but some take a lot of time and effort - www.ss42.com/pt-cars.html
A search for 'free car paper model download' or similar will yield plenty pf other options.
You need a printer (obvs), some scissors or craft knife, and some paper glue.
As an example, here's a Mk2 Jag, that consists of 14 sheets of A4 (and 12 for the instructions!) they estimate three hours to build this one.
