Well hello there, back in February, as a temporary replacement fr the cavalier, I bought myself an Astra mk3, it looked great in the pictures, A lovely looking cheap motor in a great colour, and an auto too ( yes I like autos, I'm getting treatment for it ok, it's nothing to be embarrassed about ), anyway, I traveled to view it, yes I had to travel as auto mk3 astras are getting a bit scarce, and when i got there it was a dog. It had a lock missing, the indicator lenses were gone, and there was a massive dent inn the n/s sill and both n/s doors. I had a look at the picture on my phone in the ad and yes there was a pic showing the near side, but taken at such an angle and it such bright sunlight that it totally obscured the damage, curse word! But here I was needing a car immediately, so I took the old dog for a drive. You know what?, it was perfect, super smooth gear changes, a good turn of speed, it positively flew. Yeah I bought it, warts an all
I gave it a bit of a polish and treated to a new pair of indicators ( plus a bit of 'instagram' magic)
And then...just because I wanted to...A little bit of bling in the engine bay ( the paint isn't perfect, but it looks good at first glance... )
EDIT ***I bought a set of nice 13 inch steels complete with beauty rings.... blah blah blah it didn't work, inconsistencies with materials, condition of hubcaps and my inability to weld all tabs exactly the same forced me to give up on the wheels for now so I've removed the pics ***EDIT
After I've done all that I will be attempting to get my mk2 GTE clocks into the mk3 dash
