Build Threads is good, but is there an option on proboards to do tagging/custom icons/flair etc, so once a build is finished (or sold maybe) you could change the thread to 'Finished' / 'Showroom'
Threads could be started as 'Finished' / 'Showroom' too maybe, for 'I got this car and I am not going to change anything' type posts perhaps ?

Bit late seeing this but if showroom isn't right what about car park ? Spent many an evening, pint glass in one hand, shivering in the cold chatting about peoples cars in a pub car park. Always seems to be some more interesting cars parked in show car parks than in the showground, been to a lot of one make shows over the years !
Makes sense to go with whats been suggested though.

With many retro riders either being self employed or working for small firms would it be possible to have a link to the various firms and services they can offer? even if its only distance selling stuff at present eg emails/phone calls and the stuff sent by courier?

What about for finished builds or current state of the builds a page or section Cars of Retro Rides as an alphabetical gallery with an image for each make and/or car. Alphabetical so it is easy to look up a particular car or brand.

How about a 'Let me google that for you' section to politely tell people that they can easily get their questions answered by doing this ..

Okay I've got a plan. I'm trimming the forum down a touch (nothing major, just losing a couple of experiments that didn't pan out), I also want to add a forum and maybe shift discussion around a touch to give some threads a bit more breathing room. So ... I want to have a place for completed projects, just somewhere you can show off your cars really, rather than a full build thread. Now Readers Rides would be a great name for that haha, but it is already taken. I was thinking of maybe renaming Reader Rides to Build Threads and then opening up a new Readers Rides section for complete builds? Or maybe I keep Readers Rides as is and have the new section with a new name "Showroom" sounds a bit too much like stuff for sale ... "show off" is okay but has implications that maybe some people won't like ... what say you? Build Threads + Readers Rides, or do you have a better idea? The other thing I've been thinking about for a few months is renaming General to "Cool old cars" or "Retro Cars" or something like that. Then encouraging the use of Question Section for stuff that is about older cars, but is more in the way of advice? But I don't want it to cross over with the Technical and Legal Questions bit. Thought about Renaming Question Section to Help And Advice ... but ... again ... any thoughts of a better nomenclature for this? As ever I reserve the right to just go ahead with everything as previously planned, but always good to hear some other thoughts... What about "Gallery", with the option of a caption where a link to the relevant build thread/Readers Rides could be inserted?
