1998 9-3 SE 2.3i (non turbo) Convertible in Monte Carlo Yellow.
MoT until 09/02/21
Mileage - 134,695
V5 is present and in my name.
With some history, receipts and old MoT certificates along with the original handbooks.
I purchased it on a whim as I love this colour and it was for sale local to me, but my heart really lies with 99's & C900's.
So with a deposit now placed on a C900 LPT this one needs to move on (no space on the driveway).
Purchased with the clutch slipping, I had it recovered to a trusted local garage who fitted a new clutch.
I have driven the car less than 50 miles in total, but it drives well.
There are still bits to do, so its being moved on as a use and improve mini project.
Firstly a bit about the general condition.
External & Bodywork - Bodywork I would describe as good. There is no rust showing on the arches, but there are a few marks and stone chips etc...
The paint has faded on the offside corner of the rear bumper, but on the whole the bodywork is very good for the age of the car.
The hood is a little tatty in a couple of places, but is sound and I have not noticed any leaks.
It does occasionally catch on the rear Tonneau when opening so this sometimes needs a slight nudge to allow it to fold. It probably just needs a small amount of adjusting.
Both Tonneau flaps are missing, a common issue with these cars.
I have recently cleaned the hood and it has come up a lot better than it was.
I will also include in the sale the Fabsil I recently purchased to treat the roof, I have not yet had chance to apply it myself since cleaning it.
Nearside front fog lamp is broken, but I have sourced a replacement. This will either be fitted by me if it stops raining or will come with the car for the buyer to fit.
The offside lower front grill (next to the fog light) was missing, but again I have sourced a replacement, as above I will either fit it or leave it for the buyer to sort.
All lamps, indicators and mirrors are in good condition with no cracks or holes etc...
I have fitted new badges on the bonnet and boot.
I have sourced a boot spoiler (already prepared and painted with primer) and have purchased some MCY paint ready to spray it.
I will leave this for the new owner to fit or not to fit if they so prefer.
Alloy wheels are 17''s and are in reasonable condition, tyres all have plenty of tread remaining and are all less than 3 years old.
Interior - The leather is sound with no holes or rips, there is some wear on the outer drivers bolster. The leather would benefit from a good clean (and feed), as would the genuine SAAB mats.
The rear adjusters on both seats and the side panel on the passenger seat are missing.
The SID display is missing a lot of its pixels. But all other switches and electrical's work fine, I have recently replaced the hazard light switch with a good used one that I had amongst my spares.
Mechanical & running gear - It starts first turn of the key. I have replaced the not so healthy battery that was fitted with a good used one (the correct size & fitment) that I had spare.
There are no untoward noises and it stops as it should, it engages all gears and of course its just had a new clutch kit fitted.
The history shows power steering pipe replacements, handbrake cables & slave cylinder replacement in the past few years.
According to the history it was last serviced in July 19.
I have purchased a service kit, but have not yet got around to servicing the car due to the weather and other commitments. I will of course include the service kit (spark plugs, oil, air & pollen filters and sump plug & washer) in the sale. Buyer will have to source their own oil.
I will also include a few 9-3 spares that I have acquired over the years, switches, relays, filler caps etc... and a set of front brake discs & pads (the ones fitted still have plenty of life left in them).
The car is located in Nettleham near Lincoln.
Asking price for a car with just short of 11 months MoT remaining is a reasonable£795 Now £750
