That's pretty tragic, most are way beyond being economically viable restorations. Still, a parts bonanza for lots of people! Yes, doesn't sound like they're interested in parting the cars out so will be interesting to see how many get bought by enthusiasts to break rather than simply weighed in for scrap.

Why have they been treated like that? Was talking to my brother about this today. It was only ten or fiftenn years ago that you could pick up a Sierra estate for not much over £100 with some tax and MOT and run it until the tax ran out. Then you'd park it out back in a field, because scrap dealers were charging you to take them because scrap rates were so low. They were basically less than worthless.

If i remember rightly i got 75p for a shell full of toot i weighed in about 15yrs ago. I think i donated it to the scrap yard tea fund..
